Default OEM strut bar install the right way

Ok so I have searched for a while and have heard so many different ways to do this. Some say you have to get the front wheels off the ground, some say you shouldnt do that and you need it under load. Im so confused on what to do. The other thing is the tension on the strut bar. Once I get it on and tighten down diverside bolts and the passigner side bolts, I adjust it so there is good clearence for the engine and then how do I know how many turns to give it to make it the right tension?
I realize im making this more complicated than what it is, but I just need help and I trust this site the most.

you are supposed to do it with the wheels off the ground. The FSM has all the torque ratings you need

correct, jack the car up, preload the bar and then tighten everything down.
