Default Stripped rear coilover bolt.

So I think I stripped my rear coilover bolt when I was reinstalling my coilover. It is super hard to align the holes with the coilover and I think I put it in the wrong way. Is there any way to fix this or am I going to have to order a hole new hub assembly? I am pretty sure it is stripped where the hub assembly is.

Thanks, Angelo

if it is what i think you're talking about where the bottom of the shock body mounts to the hub assembly then that is not threaded. typically i get a floor jack or scissor jack and jack it up to align.

just keep aligning it until you can hammer it through. otherwise, a screwdriver on the other end to align helps too. if you caused the slot to have threads because you screwed it through, try re-aligning until you can screw it all the way through.

yeah thats what i'm talking about. Are you sure its not threaded? because I got the bolt all the way in and usually when it gets to the end you can't spin it anymore, but in my case it keeps spinning.

Better to try and post a pic of exactly where the issue is. If you mean the spot where the Op is talking about then it is not threaded. looks like you are not on the same page

Did you stock shocks have a nut welded on them that the lower shock mount bolt went into? How about the new coilovers, did the new coilover come with a pair of extra bolt you may not have know where they go ?

Better yet, post pics so we can laugh at you.

Sounds like you need to put the nut on the end of the bolt.
