OEM Nismo Springs on Non-Nismo Z
Its time to replace my shocks, So Im looking to upgrade my suspension, seeing as how this a daily driver with limited track use (got the vette for the track), I am just looking to increase performance and replace the oem shocks.
I figured since i have the money why not upgrade the springs and sway bars while im at it. I already have chosen my sway bars but am stuck on my springs.
I have been looking at the OEM Nismo Springs as they will work better with stock nismo shocks, my question is if the Nismo shocks are the same as the base model shocks? if they are different i will just go with a Monroe Sensa-trac or Tociko Blue HP and pair em with the springs, but will this work? Ive been searching and have come up with vague or no answers.

They are valved entirely differently. The stock springs on the OEM Nismo peak out around 500lbs for the front and 700lbs for the rear, the rear are progressive though. The OEM Nismo dampers would be valved for those.
The plus side however, is that they aren't that expensive; ~$140-160 a piece. Downside is that they aren't serviceable.

ok cool I know the spring rates are higher than the normal springs, so i will just order the oem dampers from nissan for the nismo since they are different, they cost the same for the front and the rear as a regular z so i will just pull the trigger on those, thanks guys.

Personally, i dnt think OEM non-Nismo shocks + OEM Nismo springs is a good combo. the OEM non-Nismo shocks is not heavy duty enough and it will probably under-damp if u put OEM Nimso spring on it.
