Default suspension interpreter"is the z stock supspension that horrible?"

i'm fairly new to the whole automechanics realm of language...learning more as i surf. This is a lazy question but in simple language(neophyte) can someone explain why our suspension is bad in terms of performance? besides understeer, is it comfort?...etc. , what can you do with the stock suspension and what can't you do?....<--maybe that's a better question

fully aluminum; double wishbone suspension.

by all standards it is the best of the best with the most advanced designs you can have.(in a car of this class of course, wont claim it competes with indy or whatever)

understeer is 99% of the time dialed in from the factory by tire choices, sway bar setups, and yes; spring and shock choice. the theory is, understeer is easier to control in the hands of a intermediate driver(face it; if your driving a stock 350Z, you are (at best) an intermediate driver). also they go through great lengths to protect the car from a head on collision; they dont want you going backwards into a wall.

as for the bounce, I dont know. definitly seems to be an effect of the shock and spring setup. is it a byproduct of their want for understeer, or just a poor choice? not sure.

Uh, the suspension design/geometery is fantastic. Nissan it seems biffed it on the last, and most important step, tuning the springs and shocks. Simply stated, they just don't work in harmony with each other or the rest of the chasis. ITs only a subtle change for it to be alot better...grive the g35c and youll see what I mean. The NISMO suspension is a much better matched setup.

As you may know or knot know we race oour 350Z in the Grand Am cup series. We have done a lot of development on the car as far as suspension set up. This is one f the best handling platforms I have driven on a track......with some tweaking of course. Form the factory it falls a little short ...but the pieces are there...but then again that the fuun part.
