Default d2 rs coilover help

Ok guys I have installed a set of d2 rs coilovers and the back is extremely bumpy it feels like the rear end of the car is going to bounce off the ground when I hit a bump, is this normal or do I need to adjust the dampening lower or higher

OEM or true coilover? How much shock travel do you have, and how low are you.

If you can't even tell me what spring you have, you should have just got a shock and spring kit. Leave coilovers to the people who know what their doing. Proper suspension setup with coilovers is not really that easy.

I dont see how the springs would be different if it is a coilover system they should all be the same

If i recall correctly, the D2 coilovers are the exact same thing as Ksports just a different color. Spring rates should be 12kg front and 7.2kg rear in a true coilover position. OP get a softer spring in the rear, something like 4 or 5kg, it should be ok from there. Better yet throw the d2's in the garbage and get something with better damping. I have the ksport version of these and they suck on and off the track.

Your height is your biggest issue with those coils. Most of these kind of coilovers (i.e. D2, MDU, BCR, etc...) aren't meant to remain at stock height and if you keep them there, it's a downright scary ride. I had the same issue with BCRs when I put my 300 to stock height for some odd reason. Even at the preset dampening, if you lower your car significantly, you won't have that issue.

Keep in mind, D2 is a street coilover and meant to slam your car. If that's not your intention, I wouldn't go with those. They are DECENT at the track (at best) for an occasional jaunt but if you're gonna have a weekend warrior, a different coil is in order.

I currently have the D2s on my car but I'm super low and thusly don't have an issue.

D2s aren't known for being the most comfortable coilovers, have you adjusted the damping, OP?

i like my d2's, they are okay. Did you fix the problem op?? I set mine near 10 click from soft and think the ride is pretty good. How are you liking the ride in general and what about cornering?

actually thats weird, ive ran my d2's on full soft and full stiff and never had a problem with the rear being TOO bumpy. Try dropping it more? Im almost at full lowering height in the rear. Remember not to put too much preload, you don't want to turn the collars to raise or drop

Yeah. I really think all he needs to do is drop the car and he'll be fine. I'm rocking D2's right now, like a sir, and I don't bounce. It's not part of what I do.

A little question about d2 suspension in general. I just bought a street kit online. But when i got it yesterday i saw that the rear shocks are the same as the front ones... but the z only in front has (all in one) suspension.. in the rear it has a spring... and a shockabsorber...loose.. in the manual it says.. replace the 2 oem seperate parts for this allbin one rear version... will this be ok.. i cant find any pics on the net about this.. pls comment this

The D2 kit is a true coilover kit. That means the spring goes over the strut. You just remove the rear springs and install the kit. Easy peasy.

Ok i put them on today.. few issues with this... how do i adjust the dampening in the rear.. when they are not reachable anymore... do i really have to drill a hole in my car under the black covers??? Still i have to use a long t-wrench star i think size 3 to get to the top of the coilover... thats something they didnt thought about?? Second thing is the height adjustment. Can i lower or heighten the coils when they are placed. Because i think i have to take out the bolt under.. to turn the bottom part of the coilover round amd round to adjust it? Or is there an other way? Third thing are the brakeline holders i got in this package of d2.. this stupid round holder with bolt does not even fit around the coilover? ?!!?!?!?! And i also have a abs sensor wire there.next to the brakeline. .... so do have to make my own little holder for these 2 lines.. or go use tyraps like ducktape tuning?!?!?! Last thing is that they dont even send 2nuts for the back 2.. as for oem, the nuts are welded on the oem shocks, so now i had to look around here to find me some nuts that will fit..........are there some people here that had the same issues with the d2 full Coilover kits?? thnx Diederik
