Different spring for oem style coilover?
Ok guys I've been trying to search here with no luck. Pretty much I got my z about a month ago, came with some coilovers already. I can't tell the brand. No real markings on them. The rear is already maxed out, based on how I saw to lower them. The problem is I need them to be lower. The front I still have plenty of room to adjust but the back not so much. What I'm wondering is if you can get different springs for the bucket to make it lower. Only reason I have this idea is because of what I was reading about the bc coils having 2 different springs.
Thanks guys,
Devon

The reason racers use coilovers is partially for the ease of changing spring rates. Without changing the spring length , or preload a stiffer spring will raise the car a softer spring will lower the car. Also springs are available in different lengths. Shorter springs will lower , longer will raise. Then you have your preload adjustments to change height from there.
Call Leonard at Swift Springs or Adam at Race Consulting Suspension Agency, before you call , get your spring rates, spring length and outer diameter. He can better go over your options for your goals.

BC sells 210mm and 230mm in OEM style springs. This will give you the ability to adjust the height as well. Not sure about different spring rates but I know they sell 8k
Eibach ESS 5.5" OD will work too but you lose the ability to adjust. You'll just have to figure out the proper length to get the drop you want. Might take some a few trial and error attempts. I've heard of people using 9.5" length.
Any 65mm coilover will also work if you are running true rears but of course you'll need a toe arm.
SPL mid links + 65mm coil will give you the maximum flexibility but will run you back 1k. Plenty of 65mm coil lengths and spring rates to choose from.
