so i got pulled over because only my 3rd brake light was working. the tail lights light up normally when turning on the headlights. but when applying break they do not brighten up as they should with the 3rd brake light. i've checked the fuses and changed the brake switch and have found no solution. any ideas or suggestions of what mind be wrong. thank you

 

Well, if the 3rd brake light works, you can eliminate the switch as a possible problem. Not sure if it's on the same fuse as the main brake lights, but I'd double check for a bad fuse. If you've got the newer LED rear lights, you can eliminate that they're "burned out", but if you've got the earlier type with regular filament bulbs, check the bulbs.
