R1 Concepts review...not a good one
I rarely post, however just thought I would share my experience about these rotors, for safety purposes. Just a little background on my vehicle. My car was purchased brand new in 05-04, 350z enthusiast. Now its turbocharged, and has a bunch of stuff done it to, too much to list. The car has less than 50,000 miles.
I heard a squeeking sound from the right rear. Took it to my mechanic and his exact words were "Ive never seen anything like it"... see pics below. These are the rear rotors, but the front ones are starting to go as well. Any recommendations on slotted rotors that are better than these? I also would like brake pads that dont squeek and have minimal brake dust.
Thanks.

Contrary to what your mechanic says, this is not as rare of an occurrence as he made it out to be. This is one of the drawbacks of drilled rotors, and a big reason why tons of people just settle with slotted.
R1Concepts is much like tons of other brake companies. They don't make rotors. They are usually just blank rotors brought to you by the almighty Centric Parts. They then have them slotted, drilled, or both.
In all fairness to this company, I could understand why they may be unwilling to help you at this point. They can't vouch for your driving habits, which is usually the one factor with rotor damage. You are running a turbocharger on what looks to be rinky dinky stock brakes. A big issue is going to be heating and cooling, which could have very well have caused your cracks.

That's pretty bad! I must say though, I have had R1 slotted/cross drilled rotors on the stock Brembo's on my Jeep GC SRT8 for almost two years, and they still look brand new. I'm most surprised R1 won't do anything for you, as they have a good reputation on the SRT forums. Also, +1 on the Stoptech pads. GL.
