Default R1 Concepts review...not a good one

I rarely post, however just thought I would share my experience about these rotors, for safety purposes. Just a little background on my vehicle. My car was purchased brand new in 05-04, 350z enthusiast. Now its turbocharged, and has a bunch of stuff done it to, too much to list. The car has less than 50,000 miles.
I heard a squeeking sound from the right rear. Took it to my mechanic and his exact words were "Ive never seen anything like it"... see pics below. These are the rear rotors, but the front ones are starting to go as well. Any recommendations on slotted rotors that are better than these? I also would like brake pads that dont squeek and have minimal brake dust.
Thanks.

Never get them slotted and drilled...in fact..never drill them.
Having said this..simply contact them and ask for slotted. Better yet, with turbo added, get upgraded brakes.

According to their website there is a 1 year warranty, how many miles and how long did you run these?

If you can't get a replacement go with slotted StopTechs, I love mine

Contrary to what your mechanic says, this is not as rare of an occurrence as he made it out to be. This is one of the drawbacks of drilled rotors, and a big reason why tons of people just settle with slotted.

R1Concepts is much like tons of other brake companies. They don't make rotors. They are usually just blank rotors brought to you by the almighty Centric Parts. They then have them slotted, drilled, or both.

In all fairness to this company, I could understand why they may be unwilling to help you at this point. They can't vouch for your driving habits, which is usually the one factor with rotor damage. You are running a turbocharger on what looks to be rinky dinky stock brakes. A big issue is going to be heating and cooling, which could have very well have caused your cracks.

ive had BrakeMotive's slotted/drilled rotors on my previous and current z. 30k miles on my old z and about 12k miles on this z so far. haven't had one problem with them. $165 off ebay and comes with new pads.. lol. these will do until BBK.

That's pretty bad! I must say though, I have had R1 slotted/cross drilled rotors on the stock Brembo's on my Jeep GC SRT8 for almost two years, and they still look brand new. I'm most surprised R1 won't do anything for you, as they have a good reputation on the SRT forums. Also, +1 on the Stoptech pads. GL.

Minor cracks are not rare. But a crack like this one is; its pretty much all the way through. And again, the car isnt tracked so I dont see a need to upgrade to bigger brakes from these rinky dinky ones as you put it. It has under 50,000 miles. Its an 05 and its garage kept and rarely driven. Its probably way past the one year warranty but nonetheless the rotors dont have many miles on them. Ive just never seen this on any vehicle Ive owned. I just need a recommendation for some better ones that are somewhat aesthetically pleasing cause they are going to have to be replaced.
