Default Compression Rod install problem

I have installed new Whiteline lower inner control arm bushings and Whiteline Compression Rod bushings.

The problem I am having is when the lower control arm is installed and with the compression rod butted to the chassis and the cross member bolted up I cannot seem to get the ball joint on the comp. rod to meet up with the wheel hub. Its like and inch high. Front suspension with no load.

Here is a picture:

It just seems like something is not right...... It should not be this hard....

place jack strait towards the spindle, jack up the spindle with the jack. this will raise the spindle up. than i had to pivot the back of the jack to get the pivot ball lined up with the hole. than jack up the spindle a little more till it goes it.

so basically you wanna use the jack to manipulate the spindle to line up with the compression arm. i went through this same thing. driver side took me 45 min till i figured out how to manipulate it. after that i did the passenger side in 10 min.

So this is normal? Why does this rod need to be forced into fitting? Seems like it will be under a big load. Thanks for your help.

Yes, this is normal. In addition, the poly bushing you just installed is much stiffer than the oem rubber, making the job of installation that much more difficult.

Got this done. It is a cinch when you disconnect the main hub ball joint and put the compression rod ball joint on first then jack up the lower control arm and install the main ball joint last. Thanks for everyones help! The car drives GREAT!!!!!!! I Love this car!

the oem is rubber too, and the whiteline rotates better because it had a center tube with grease which should be easy for the steering rack to handle. now, it is harder to move up and down, but that does not affect the steering.
