Does anyone know who would be able to make a bracket that would re-locate the caliper to the 9 o'clock position?

Reason I asked is because I have been having the dreaded pad knockback issue on the track. While using the "left love tap" can be useful, it just doesnt give me the same confidence that the car will brake consistently each and every time at all corners.

Been doing alot of research on this, all I can find is that using the little piston spring seem like the only other solution to this, yet it's still doesnt completely cure the problem. Also upgrading to oem brembos and/or BBK doesn't cure the problem either, unless it's the StopTech Trophy Sport BBK where it relocates the caliper to the 9 o'clock. And that's just way out of my league.

So I was wondering if there's any shops/vendors that might be able to make a bracket/adapter that can relocate oem brakes (non-brembo and brembo) to the 9 o'clock, along with extended brake lines if needed.

Btw, I have the 06 2-piston non-brembo brakes.

Who can make it? Someone that is good at taken measurements and then someone who is good at following those measurements to cut the pieces. Try talking to local shops and such, it may not be as cheap as you are thinking unless a shop is willing to do it. Make sure they have some decent fab skills as that requires good measuring.

 

Not really thinking about price yet, but I would think it should be less than say a set of oem brembos. I think there might be a market for this since there are quite a few of people that do regular DEs/track events, and if the SpecZ would allow such mod, market would be even bigger. Just thinking out loud here....

I was going to get a set of oem brembos, but after doing much readings, going from floating to fixed calipers actually increases the knockback issue, so thats a no go.

I would think vendors/shops that put brake kits together might be able to do this, since they should already have some measurements on our brakes, the only difference would be using the bracket on the oem/brembo setup and relocate it to the 9 o'clock position. But Idk exactly what's needed to be done, so I might be simplify things too much.

dude, your in damn houston - go to a local machine shop - tons there!

I would:
go to a junk yard first - buy a complete front and rear knuckle with spare rotor, hub, spare brake caliper, etc - everything on it....

hand walk it into a local machine shop and tell them what you want. they can measure, draw out and input into there millling machine what you want and test fit it after with the spare parts.

take them the car instead of buy the spare junk yard parts and you will hands down be paying more...

if oem SS brake lines dont reach then google custom brake lines or again - in houston hand walk your spare junk yard brake lines and hand have a hydraulic shop make you some longer
ss lines....
