Default Lowering My Z, Which Springs To Use?

I want to lower my Z, but I am unsure which springs to go with. I want a good looking stance but do not want to worry about alignment issues. I just want to go with springs not coilovers. Which springs do you guys suggest would be best. I was thinking about the Eibachs but a few of you say it will cause alignment issues and I will have to go with a camber kit and I don't want to do that. I just want to buy springs put them in align the car and go. What do you think??

Well it sounds like you don't want too much of a drop so I would check out RS*R or Tein S-techs.

Eibach pro-kit lowers 1 inch at all corners, and your alignement shoul just barely be within spec...maybe a tad out. Each car is different, so the alignment issue is very hit-or-miss. If you are really concerned about the alignment, the Nismo springs have a .8 inch drop, which gives you an extra margin for error.

I love my Eibach's. It completely transfored the car (in addition to my Voilk 19's). The car has lost 75-80% of the freeway hop, and just feels notably more compliant in all respects.

This is what I have generally heard about this and am leaning that way myself. I have a track with the 18" rays and when I switch to the Nitto 555 35 profile I am hoping to experience the same.

I just ordered Eibachs. I looked at all the different springs and decided Eibach was the best choice. The 1" drop with 18's seems to look perfect, I was scared that the Tein and RS*R springs wouldn't totally delete the gap.

When are you getting/installing them? Have you changed anything else with suspension?

I'm installing them myself this coming weekend. I've installed springs on quite a few cars so it shouldn't be hard. I haven't done anything else to the suspension, I'll probably get adjustable shocks in the next year or so.

If you want to go with springs only...

Id say TEIN first... then Eibach...

TEIN's seem to be very well balanced for the Z... Very nice ride either with S-Tech or H-Tech versions...

TEIN S-Tech have a heavier spring rate at 386 on the front and 402 on the rear. .7 drp in the front and .6 in the rear. Much nicer ride then stock while retaining the road hugging sporty feel.

TEIN H-Tech have a lighter spring rate, their Luxury springs... 358 in the front at 375 in the rear. A more smoother more "floaty" ride but still hugging the pavement. a .3 inch drop in the front and .2 in the rear. If you own a Z and just want a better ride. Go for these...

EIBACH Pro Kit... 1" drop all around, you will replace your shocks faster since they will wear more. ride is a bit harsher then the S-Tech's...

now... if you want to go up a level...

Tein Basic Coilover - The ride is very smooth and very secure... 503 spring rate front and rear and full height adjustment shocks... cost is a bit more then just doing the springs.. but, if you do the springs only you will be replacing the shocks soon after and bring you above the cost of the basics...

Tein CS - their dampning adjustable coil over with a very plush ride... if you get this suspension i recomend getting adjustable sways like teh Stillen / Eibach and the EDFC (electronic damping force controller) because you will want to put it on the stiffest setting all the time.

TEIN FLex - a little harder ride then stock but with the EDFC unit you can go out and not bump around your passangers head putting it on a soft setting...

botht he CS and FLEX suspensions are full height adjustable and include pillow ball mounts for reduced road noise and suspension noise... a HUGE improvement over stock....

doing only springs alone... or even the Basic or FLEX suspension you will find your turns have less body roll... totally changes the car to an even more of a sport car handling...

All these prices for these suspenions and more can be found on http://www.mynismo.com ... We also offer JIC suspensions, call or email for pricing...

We have all parts in stock... If we dont we get them in a day or so... *unless bringing over from Japan of course*

The springs are not hard to change, you can do the rears in about 40 minutes for both. In the other hand, the fronts are kind of a pain if you don't have an impact gun to take the top bolts off the struts. But all in all, it is not that bad. If you do a search under 'eibach' there are some installation tips that can be found.
