Buying bc coilovers soon need help
I've read and searched and wanted some input. I'm about to place an order on some bc coilovers and debating if I should upgrade to swift springs. I'll just daily this car and maybe track it on the weekends but majority daily it. What's the best spring rate I should go with? Thanks again guys.
I can't say much bout the spring rate, but I have a set of the one piece ones, I really y like them, I set the shocks to soft for daily, not much bumpier or same as springs and shocks. I'm happy with them
Well first of all I would recommend going with a better coilover. Then spring rate, typically they are 10f front and 8k rear, OEM style. Early stock spring rates are almost matched front to rear, 04.5 and newer the rear has a bit stiffer spring and a stiffer front sway to partially balance it out again but the newer rates understeer less. I would at minimum run matched rates front and rear 10k/10k if you plan to have a bit of fun with the car.
I run the BC racing ER coilovers and track the car 5-10 times a year. My springrates are 10k/12k. It's a bit harsh and if you don't track the car it's probably too much. With that said I have driven a Z with the BC BR with 10k/8k springs and it was just way too soft and wolly for me. Even with the stiffest setting I didn't like the setup. For street car I would recommend the Bilstein PSS10. You won't regret it.
No understeer with the 10/12 combo. I have stillen swaybars that might help, but the cars balance is just the way I like it.

For about the same price and same swift option, I'm personally looking into fortune auto with 10k front/rear. They custom valve your shocks that have digressive pistons. They also can supply a shock dyno with your order (from what I have read). That all bing said , I do not have any first hand use with these, I just have been doing a little research.

I have always wanted to cash out for the swift springs but I never did so I can't really comment on them. I have always ran the stock springs on my stance/fortune auto/pbm coilovers with no issues. For DD and occasional drift they work fine for me.
