Default 350Z Drift Button Detailed Install

Hey 350Z community! I have a S13 drift button I am trying to install on my handbrake. I have seen 2 other posts with pictures that show how to install and get it working. The problem is neither of them talk about how to remove the leather hand brake boot. I have tried several times just pulling it off like the guilds suggest but discovered it might still be held on at the bottom (under another plastic boot) or at the top by a small metal collar around the stock button. Here are some pictures after I broke down and took the whole center console off to see if I could figure out what was going on.

I noticed there are some rivets type attachments that hold the lower plastic boot on any ideas on how to get these off?

Thanks for the input! I will try to put together a better guild for any 350Z owners tat would like to do this in the future!

I popped them off with a flat head screw driver then took the plastic lower boot off. After that i just pulled up with a slight twisting motion on the leather boot and it along with the button and metal collar came off

I was not able to re use the metal clips (shown in the picture after I popped them off with he screw driver so i used hot glue to make everything stay

Hope I helped some people!

Actually, that is what the hand brake was designed to do and to be used in an emergency if the brakes go out(very unlikely).

I dont care what it was designed for. It works well for parking. locking up your rear wheels for drifting not so much. get urself a hydro ebrake. the hand brake might work for a little bit but it will fail.

The E-Brake is crap on the 350Z because it operates via a drum brake and tiny little pads. why the hell Nissan went this route god only knows. The only way you're going to get a decent E-Brake to invoke drifting is by removing this drum brake and connect hydraulics to the rear hydraulic callipers.
