Default Stuck caliper?

So after hearing some grinding noise at low speeds I realized that my driver side brake pads were almost nonexistant, despite the passenger side being like new. Took the caliper off and the bottom slide pin for the caliper was on there pretty damn good. (Took a hammer to get it off). Replaced the pads, slide pins and the little rubber thingy on it, with plenty of grease on the slide pins, took it out for a test drive to seat the pads and they almost caught fire. The grease I put on the back of the brake pads looks like charcoal and I lost brakes almost completely. So am I looking at a new caliper or did I miss something?

rebuild or replace. I've been dealing with the same stuff after winter (the salt kills these calipers). I upgraded to brembos.

Any recommendations for stock replacements besides buying used?

Call around to your local parts houses to see of they sell remaned brake calipers. BTW- your calipers may still be good, but the piston needs to be checked and seals replaced.

Advanced Auto seems to have them:
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/r...hTerm=caliper#

I think at this point I'll buy that and be done with it to get it back on the road. Thanks guys.
