Default wanting to get more low from rear coilover springs

i bought a set of Bilstein pss10 coil-overs for my 03 touring 350z. i am looking to achieve more low in the rear. My questions are......

Is there any way to get more low from the rear springs or can i buy shorter rear spring and just replace the springs that came with the bilstein pss10 kit?

i have them all the way lowered (i took the locking washer off as well to achieve the max low) but it still sits higher than the fronts and the fronts aren't all the way lowered. they still have about 1/3 of an inch to go. the rear sits so much higher than the fronts as it sits now.

i have searched online for weeks and haven't been able to find a specific answer. i am new at this so please be nice

You will need new springs unless it is one of the few kits that still use the spring mount.

That's what I figured. Will aftermarket springs work with the adjustable upper mount that the Bilstein springs came with or will it require different upper mounting hardware.

Just order the right diameter spring in the right length and rate. Simple and easy

thank you... i called swift springs and the numbers used by bilstein are funky he was saying. so i would have to buy all new spring buckets as well to fit the lower id since the bilstein spring uses 61mm. so he was saying i would need to buy a bottom spring bucket of 65mm because thats the closest spring they have to those measurments bilstein uses. do you know of any place i could find a list of spring id, od, length, ect.? or will i just need to call up companies to get those specifics

65 should fit no problem, if needed run a wrap of tape

So what you are saying is those swift springs would work for my current set up......i would have to put tape on the inside of the spring seat to make it go from 65mm to 61mm?

I would run them, and probably not even use anything to make up the difference

I CALLED BC RACING AND THE GUY THERE TOLD ME I RUN A VERY HIGH RISK OF LOOSING MY SPRING (FALLING OUT OF THE BUCKET) WHILE DRIVING IF I RUN A SPRING THAT IS SHORTER THAN THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THE PSS10 KIT BECAUSE THE REAR SHOCKS ARE NOT HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE IN THE REARS. AND TOLD ME THE ONLY WAY TO SAFELY GET MY REARS LOWER WOULD BE BUYING A WHOLE NEW REAR SET UP. I AM NOW More screwed up than a football bat hitting a soccer puck into a baseball net HAHA YOU COULDN'T OF SAID WHAT MY HEAD IS FEELING RIGHT NOW ANY BETTER THAN YOUR QUOTE

Don't pss10's go pretty low normally? How low are you in the rear at their lowest setting?

Well, BC is not know for knowledge. They probably don't know how to use a helper spring. You may need a set of helper springs.

Btw, take a pic wheel the wheel off and post it.

Ok I'll take pictures tomorrow at some point after work. Wouldn't I have to droop my rear suspension Pretty far to loose the spring/have it fall out? I don't really think it's possible to droop my suspension that low in the rear for it to pop out of the spring bucket

Here's a few pictures of the spring in the bucket.

Tapered spring, there is a slight mod required in the spring bucket. Look for more info in the Motorsports section.

Can it fall out, yes it is possible if it fully unseats. Let's go back to helper springs and look at the Motorsports section. Lots of great info.

I looked up helper springs and I am confused on how it would mount on the rear since its not a true coilover I'm the rear? And from what I understand the helper spring is the smaller spring on the front coilover. I couldn't find a lot on the tapered spring mod either

If you are talking about an adaptor for the spring bucket I onow I need that. By racing sells those and the guy from swift was telling me about them. But maybe that's somethig else you are talking about

Oh my gawd this is what exactly what I need.

It looks like the helper spring is just sitting on top of a washer on the rear spring. I'm gonna contact swift and see if they have a set of those helper springs. Do those come in variable sizes too?

the guy from swift told me to get a 7 inch spring which is a little over 4 inches shorter than the Bilstein. What size helper spring should I get.

It looks like I would need just the adapter with both a new rear spring and helper spring and possibly a longer threaded top seat? In the picture (it's on the next page) his threaded body looks longer than the one that came with my bilsteins.

I'm running a 6" spring plus the helper spring with the collar between the two. (In the picture, in the post above)
