Help please...Front knuckles rubbing my wheels

Default Help please...Front knuckles rubbing my wheels

Hi guys, i currenty having problem about kunckle rubbing on my wheels.
the knuckle are rubbing the wheels on both font, but the left side seems to have more damage on it.
I'm running on 19x10 offset 20 (not sure about the offset)
Tire: Michelin PSS 245/35/19
tires is alittle stretch, thats why its rubbing the wheels not tire.

Is anyone would know what cause this? is it because of my wheels is too wide?

I'm thinking about getting 5mm spacer, hopefully that would help for now.
However i'm planing to run 275/35 on the front for my next set of tires. Do you guys think the knuckle will rub the tires?









Is there any better way to fix this? Please help !!!!!

the front wheel offset is either 15 or 20.my car has about 1 1/2 inch wheel gap .not sure if its because of the alignment or not, will have to go check it once i got my spacer.

The problem you are having has nothing to do with your wheels' size or offsets, or your tires.

I wonder what other aftermarket suspension components (and if you have drop springs) are on your car, and the camber settings.

Camber, suspension and all that has nothing to do with rubbing on the spindle. It's your wheel clearance . Just install a 5 mm spacer and good.

Isn't a 20 mm offset enough to avoid the problem he describes?

Crunching numbers it would clear with an 18 , maybe the knuckle curves out a enough or his wheel has an off lip design. Could also be a different offset than he believes.


If you look at the spindle design , as the suspension moves , the wheel will not move further or closer to the spindle , only possible cause could be bearing, offset or wheel weight.

A 10" wide wheel with an offset of +20 should have no problem fitting. I've got 18x11" that are +20 that don't, but a 3mm spacer makes them fit fine. With an inch less width, you should have zero clearance problems on the hub side unless:

1. You're wrong about your wheel dimensions
I'm guessing this is the problem, being you're "not sure" about the offset which is literally the most important thing in this discussion. You haven't even listed the model of the wheel which might allow us to reference manufacturer specifications.

2. your wheel bearings are severely ****ed.
The front upright is rigidly attached to the hub/rotor/wheel. it's distance to the wheel doesn't change regardless of any alignment setting. period. The only thing that would allow the wheel to get closer to the upright is if
A) Your rotor hat is thinner than the factory specification
B) Your wheel bearing is so absolutely shot that the wheel can actually move dimensionlaly

Doing some basic maths, your wheel as a full .5" (or 12.7 mm) less distance from the hub surface to the inner edge of the wheel than mine do.

Now, yours are 19" wheels, so they may have a touch less upright to wheel clearance than my 18"s as the uprights do taper inward at a point.

So, with all this math, either you have over a half inch of play in your wheel bearings on both sides or you have a set of wheels that are not +20 offset, but a +33 offset, which with a little googling does appear to be a reasonably common size.

I'm betting on the latter.
