Default Brake Caliper Overhang 350z Brembos

I've been searching far and wide to find the caliper overhang (distance the caliper sticks out passed the hub mounting surface) for the Brembos on a 350z track model. I am working on designing a set of 3 piece wheels for a guy and I don't have the vehicle in front of me to measure it myself. The owner measured and says that the caliper overhang is 2.5" which seems excessive considering the stoptech BBK only overhangs 1.5". Can anyone confirm his measurement or give me a different measurement. Thanks.

Can anyone do me a solid here? If you have a wheel design question I'll be more than happy to return the favor lol

I've got an extra set of Brembo's sitting here, but I'm not sure exactly what measurement you're looking for. Can you be more specific? What part of the wheel are you trying to clear; the inside of the rim, the backside of the spokes, etc.?

I need to make sure I clear the back of the spokes.

Well, I don't have a rotor here, so I can't measure the rotor hub. But, I can measure the caliper thickness, from the inside edge (which is closest to the friction surface of the rotor), to the outermost surface of the caliper (which has to clear the spokes). I get 2.052" (including the 3-layer powdercoat and Brembo sticker). So, your customer's measurement agrees, if he's measuring the same area I am. Sorry I can't measure the rotor hub, or give you the actual clearance between the rotor friction surface and the inside of the caliper.

Did you measure a front or rear caliper? He's getting 2.5" of overhang. That's more than you measured. That would mean the rotor would have to be flat or concave a little. Thanks for all your help.

I measured a front caliper, but I have an extra set of rears, too. The rotor hat looks like your drawing, might be 1" or so. I'm guessing your customer is measuring from the rotor friction surface, not the rotor hub surface. Too much of a coincidence.

Front hub to outer face of Brembo caliper is around 1.75."

If you leave between 1 7/8" to 2" clearance you will be safe for your wheel design.

Thanks, I normally leave around .080 worth of clearance. I appreciate all your help. If you guys are ever in the market for some custom 3 piece wheels let me know. I will get you a discount for your help.

Awesome! If you're feeling extra generous care to measure the rear? haha
