Lightbulb Akebonos on 350z...use 370z temp spare now?

Have the Akebonos awaiting install on my 350z. And it got me thinking.

My current donut (temp spare) likely won't clear the Akebonos (if I ever have to use it). So do I just buy a temp spare from a 370z? Does anyone know if the 370z temp spare will fit in the spare tire well on a 350z?

I did a search and it appears there are two spare wheel sizes on the 370z. I'm guessing the 17" is for the Akebonos? Any help or insight is appreciated.

No dude you completely remove your temp spare for a weight reduction.

Race cars do not have spare tire bro... We call a tow truck.

yes 370z spare or g37 spare will fit as long as those spares came from a car that had sport brakes..

a lot of these cars come with repair kits.. I took my spare out.. more room and if i flat call Betterworld/tow to fix or tow

Installing the Akebonos this weekend. Cousin with his 370z w/sport package is coming over and we're going to test his temp spare wheel on my ride and see if it fits on the car and in my current spare tire well.

Will let you know what I find out.

Keep looking on ebay. I found mine there. Like being said above my spare tire is in my basement. Will have to call the wife to bring it over in case of a flat. Lol

I wouldn't bother. Worst case scenario, I would put a rear wheel on the front and put my spare on the back.

This was my plan as well. But I was not 100% sure it would fit over the rears. Are you confirming that it does works?

I've got AAA so not super worried, but it is nice to know in a pinch the front/rear/spare swap would work good enough to limp to the nearest tire shop.

Still might grab the right sized spare anyway (G37S 18") just to avoid all the messing around roadside.

I only have front BBK, stock rear brakes so I cannot confirm. I would think it would fit over the rear BBK as I would think they are the same size or smaller as the OEM front brakes.

The akebono rear calipers are small and stock spare will fit. Moving rear tire to front depends on your tire sizes. If they are stock fine. My rear size is 285 35 19 so I can't go that route

Thanks for the confirmation. Since I'm stock all around I'm good for now, but having a G37S 18" spare in the back of my Z seems like a good safety measure. They range on eBay from $170-200.

That's too expensive. Keep checking and you will find one cheaper.
I paid 100.00 for mine

I have a 18" G37 spare, it was $150 on ebay. Nicest looking spare I've ever seen. Make sure you don't get a 17" that comes on a G37 without Akebono brakes.
I prefer not to deal with a tow truck driver if I don't have to.

Awesome. When I had mine in the car I modified the bolt down plastic to work with this. I guess you probably don't need to but spare tires are usually stabilized with something

Will a full size stock wheel fit in the compartment?

I could always throw one of my winter wheels in the back in the summer and a summer wheel in the back in the winter.
