Default Stainless Lines Question

Well I ordered some stainless brake lines and got them on Saturday. I started to install them and noticed a little problem. On the mounting point on the shock, there are two little clips that the mounting block goes between. As you can see in the pics below, there is no way that it's going to fit.

Here is the OEM brake line. You can see that the block is noticeably thinner and designed to fit between those little clips.

Here is the picture from the stores website, and a pic of all the stuff they sent me except for one that's already mounted. You'll notice in their picture that the block that mounts on the shock is much smaller to fit in the OEM position.

I've contacted the store and haven't heard back unless I keep calling them even though they say they'll call me right back. Perhaps they are really busy and I'm just being impatient, but I really want to get this done. So I thought I'd ask those of you who have done this mod and just take care of it myself.

So my question is, would you just file down the little clips on the stock mounting position? I plan on running this car in Spec Z someday, so I know I won't have the stock shocks for long. I've looked at pics of the KW's and it looks like I'll have to attach them differently when I get the new suspension set up anyways.

Should I just not even worry about it and file those clips off? Thanks guys.

If it is only temporary, I'd just bolt them down and try to have one of the two tabs holding it in place. When I went to Konis on my 240, they didn't even have supports for the brake lines so I ziptied them with no bad effects.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I doubt the KW's have the same size clips as the OEM shock. I'll just grind them off.

Thanks man. I appreciate the info.

Well, if anyone else orders these, I bought a angle grinder and just grounded one of those little nubs off. The block went right on.

If anybody is thinking about ordering the Z1 Motorsports Premium Stainless Steel brake lines, know that they are NOT going to fit in the OEM mounting positions on the shocks as they are advertised.
