Default Street Brake Pads/Rotors and Handbrake Adjustment

Hey guys!

I just got my first Nissan 350z yesterday. It's a 2005 and needs a bit of work. The car is just going to be street and basically stock. I've been searching for cheap pads. I've found some AC Delco Pads for around $50 for all four (Links Front/Rear). I was wondering if anyone had used these or if there is a better alternative. Also rotor suggestions would be fantastic.

Edit: I need to adjust my handbrake too. I've looked it up and I just want to make sure that it's correct. The handbrake adjustment is in the ashtray? Is there one on the Caliper itself or is it just the one in the ashtray.

Also since I've got your attention, is there an online shop specific to 350z parts like there is for Miatas (i.e. flyinmiata, mossmiata, ect.)? My other car is a Miata which is why I'm asking. Lastly, has anyone used Rotella T5/T6 I use it in my Miata as well. Please mods let me know if I can't have this part I will remove it.

I'll let others comment on pads. I adjusted my handbrake at the caliper. Good online shops would be Z1 Motorsports and Concept Z Performance. Any pics on the Miata?

Currently the only picture I have on hand. It's not in the best cosmetic condition. It was my first car and my first actual car buy. Mechanically it is sound but cosmetically needs paint and rust repair on the rear passenger quarter panel. Since I'm at it too here is the picture of the 350z. Its a convertible.

You could do ether to adjust the handbrake but adjusting at the wheel would probably be best. Not sure why nissan recommends adjusting the cable. There should be a hole in the rotor hat they will let you access the adjuster for the rear drum brake.

Also since you are new if you haven't already found it the FSM is available online in PDF form for free and is extremely helpful.

Get quality brakes if you're going to buy some. As for the parking brake if you think it needs adjusted because you can't lock the rear tires up with it, it wont do that. It is strictly for parking only. Even with everything adjusted up it would just squeal and slow the car down if I try on gravel.

They say if you get Project Mu shoes for the parking brake it will grab better.

I literally have to rip it all the way up for it to work its like a 100mm turbo on a 4 cylinder. Nothing till 6000 rpm and youre shifting at 7000 rpm. That's what the handbrake feels like. I definitely don't see me doing any skidding in the future in this car. Thats for the Miata.

At my old house the driveway was so steep I had to pull the parking brake to the actual last click before it wouldn't roll down the driveway.

An adjustment should fix that, the ebrake is pretty strong when adjusted properly. You should only need 6-7 clicks to hold the car.

When I replaced the brakes I adjusted it and it still took both hands pulling the brake handle to get it to hold the car from rolling away.

Refer to this thread if you want to adjust the hand brake
https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-r...ml#post3173770

And honestly if youre just daily driving the car, go to Autozone and buy Duralast Gold pads. I had them and Stoptech pad on my brembo and they felt the same to me , im using them on my Touring right now too, not a lot of brake dust ( i wash the car once a week anyway ) no noise ( i bedded them in ) And best part is FREE life time warranty on them IF you keep your car long enough

EDIT : Z1 motorsports is your 1 stop shop. I'd stay away from ConceptZ...They were selling fraud items a while back , would never deal with people like that , period.
