2003 - early 2004 Nissan Part # 55020AM820 - Spring Rate 342
2004.5 - 2007 Nissan Part # 55020AM821 - Spring Rate 427
Nissan Part # 55020AM821 Superseded to 55020AM82B
I have an early 2004 Roadster with 5020AM820 (342 spring rate). I want to install OEM springs with the 427 spring rate. I can order 55020AM821 or the superseded part # 55020AM82B. Both are available. I'm having trouble finding out what is the difference or why the part number changed. Was there another change in rear springs in later years that I'm not aware of?
I really didn't want to drop it... even a little. I just installed 275/40-18 with +15 offset. I have a rub on the passenger side when I accelerate or get into the corner. Seems to me that with the stock suspension this should not be happening. My belief is that the earlier lighter spring is the culprit.
That seems odd - sure they're the stock springs? I wonder what sort of condition the shocks and bushings are in on a car of that age, too. Is the alignment to spec?
There might be something going on. That's not a real aggressive tire size, and I have the same on my '08, with 18 x 9.5 +30 wheels. Suspension is Nismo (not lower), which is a stiffer than original, but the fender isn't close at all. Maybe that 15mm offset difference is the problem? You might be able to roll the fenders ane be fine.
jhc looks like you have a roadster as well...was looking at your album..you have much more aggressive offset/tire combination than I'm trying to run...from what I can tell from the pictures. What setup are you running?

Correct. Eibach Pro's and stock shocks (about to replace w Tokiko blues, dd still).
Enkei 9.5x18 +12 FR, 10.5x18 +12 RR
265/35 FR, 295/35 RR with a roll.
The good news, I can drive as hard as I want.
The bad news, noticeably slower off a line than my smaller setup.(225/245)
