Default Please make a suggestion of springs to soften ride to get rid of bounce

I got a next door neighbor that owns a 350Z that wants to eliminate the fwy bounce but does not want to lower his car nor does he care about imporoved handling thus stiffer ride is not his goal. Does anyone know a cheap fix to meet his goals? I bet someone here has the same goal thus has done their homework and knows the best solution.

When I did not research, I was looking to improve handling and wanted to lower my Z thus this is opposite of the direction i was going thus I have not looked into what is newe in this area. He does not want to spend a large amount thus NISMO S is out etc.

Thanks for the help in advance....

he needs new shocks, not new springs. It's the aggressive shock valving in the OEM shock that cause that bounce.

Tell your friend to call BJ Zacharias at 350EVO.com and get himself on the list for the new Koni shocks that are due out in March. The new Konis are adjustable... your friend can set them to full soft for a very nice, smooth freeway ride, then he can crank them up to full hard for a great weekend at the track.

I think 350EVO's preliminary pricing is something like $650.... retail will be about $750.

Your friend will run these with his OEM springs, no need to change those.

Hope that helps.

Audito350Z is right about the shocks. But if he doesnt want to spend that much TEIN 350Z Luxury Master HIGH.TECH Springs
is anohter choice that should help with ride quality..

These slightly lower the car. But .2 inches isnt that much.. The front is the same spring rate but the rear is much softer.. This should help alot with the ride quality but it will hurt handeling slightly..

Few of the sponsors have these for sale for under $200

yes i agree RS*R springs own (i bought them!) but they do lower the car. They do help wtih the bounce tho but u still feel every bump in the road. The handeling was improved as u said. I like the springs but it seems that these springs are not what this guy wants

Tein H.Tech will work but doesn't not eliminate the bounce all together... he will need new shocks..

I have heard G35c shocks will also do the trick..

The Tein Luxury Masters are the best bet if he wants the least expensive springs to kill the bounce. I am on the list for the Koni shocks when they come out, but they aren't inexpensive, even though BJ is giving the first group of us a discount. I have budgeted $1200 for the Konis, shocks plus install. The springs are $195+ shipping at Performance Nissan and you can check other retailers too. The Teins are 44lbs less than the stock springs in the rear. They should cure most of the bounce, since they won't overpower the stock shocks, which is what we have now. The Teins are also progressive, which should improve the ride also. The lowering is negligible, .3"frt, .2" rr. Best bet, IMO.

I am trying to contact Jeff at performance to see what he has got. Thanks to all the input.

I too would think that the G35 Coupe spings/shock combo would work pretty well. I would talk to the people over at www.freshalloy.com and see if anyone who has replaced them is willing to part with them cheaply. I know Eagle1 has replaced them.

the Koni shocks work with OEM springs... no need to buy new springs unless you just want to, or you want to lower the car

Exactly! They were designed to work with the OEM springs. They are adjustable for rebound.
