Default Z1 FUCAs

I needed some new upper control arms so gave Z1 a call. Wasnt expecting the dust boots on the joints, so big shout out to them. For me always been great service and fast shipping over the years. I was not asked to post this for those wondering.

Curious to see what caster #s these put up, and how the joints hold up.

You are such a baller it hurts

Wondering what you will think of these vs the SPL since, as we all know once the allure wears off we just man up and leave the arms at -3.something

Guess who bought the gunmetal rpf1s

I have these but the race version. I have 10 degrees caster on one side and 9 something on the other. To keep the car driving straight and also -2.7 camber

The race version re very very noisy so good choice going with the street ones

HR,

How much lower could you get the caster, if at all with these?

The ones in my pic are the race version, Im not sure if they come with the boots but I asked and they said theyd see what they can do. I actually do not think the boots will extend the "noise-free" portion of their life at all (heim joints are for the track anyway), but only time will tell.

These are fixed caster (CASTER IS NOT ADJUSTABLE), you are meant to keep both inner joints equidistant. If you do not they may bind and cause something (probably on the arm) to snap.

They are supposed to give you more caster than stock because the joint is welded in further aft...the value is fixed so Im curious...thanks HRMoneyPit.

There is no way the actual heim joints could back out on the road, only the locknut could come loose. And even then I have a hard time believing these would snap at the threads in the arm (maybe they had QC issues?).

Z1motorsports admitted that there was a problem with the loctite used while assembling the heim joint, And they sent the correct loctite for free to the customers.

I'm not sure if it's allowed to post links from the370z forum here, But here's a video from a G37 owner,

^Lol thats why heim joints are for racecar only...

Seems to be nothing to do with the construction or quality of the actual parts themselves.

I said a couple post up but I run 10 degrees caster and room for more.

And lol to caster not adjustable. Ive been doing alignments for years and just looking at them they are clearly adjustable camber and caster

It will work within a narrow range and then bind. How about you read the instructions for these pieces, and not throw out statements that someone less experienced than you will take as gospel.

I don't need to read what if done myself. You can adjust camber and caster

Alas all nuance is lost. Thanks again for the input on the caster values.

So again, how much caster range do you think you have to play with?

They don't look the prettiest but I love the fact they look straight to the point without extra flash vs other brands. I might have to try these. I'm about 2 hours from Z1 and might get them to tune my car. So I might wait and see some things in stock before I purchase. Does Z1 make their stuff in house or contract someone else to make parts for them.
