350z S-tune springs with Bilstein B8 shocks
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone is in the same boat as myself. I have a worn out S-tune suspension and want to replace the shocks.
I was considering going with Bilstein B8 setup.
I will not track the car, and honestly don't want a super low car. I already have a 993 at RS height and its a pain to drive around.
Could someone chime in and provide feedback or advise.
I did some research and the PSS10 are hit or miss since the rear is not a "true" coilover system.
Thanks!

I am still trying to find more info. I contacted bilstein and they said it will work. Was hoping someone was in our boat.
Many have said the shocks will raise the car. On my 993, the shocks are threaded so I can adjust the ride height.
If it doesn't pan out, we could switch to swift springs, but for 500 more, you could get pss10 coilovers.
Any luck on your end?

S'far as "raising the car"; yes, possible. Bilsteins tend to do that but it's more like "not allowing the spring to sag" versus actually raising it up. In any case, MAYBE 3-4mm maximum. Personal experience on Z (and similar height deltas on old school BMWs): with Bilstein/Eibach Prokit = -15mm from stock, with Koni/Eibach Prokit = -19mm from stock.

I do appreciate you replying to both threads, I understand what you were saying. I have read that bilsteins tend to "raise the car up" as you mentioned, and i thought about using the eibach pro kit as well. But there is very conflicting information out there on the how much it lowers our cars haha. I just saw this thread in the related topics, and figured it wouldn't hurt to get some first hand experience on the specific setup. To see if there were any quirks in the way it handled.

S'far as the Bilstein B12 Prokit, my personal experience with actual lowering is cited in post above.
Nice, I got mine installed as well. I didn't get a chance to measure it before I got them taken off, but it definitely raised my car a bit. I like the ride, I haven't truly gotten a chance to test it out too much, I nearly cut my finger off around the same time. Between that and the lock down I have had to avoid driving a stick as much as possible. How do you like it?
I took measurements. All around, the car raised .75", this is based on the dead shock measurements.
The overall drop is .55 inches, I will remeasure in 500 miles.
Hard to say overall, but its nice to have travel in the suspension.
The rear diff bushing was god sent,, no more notchey shifting..

Nice, thanks for measuring. That confirms that it definitely raised it, like I thought it did. Although like you my shocks were pretty shot. I need to get out and drive it more to fully test it!
what rear diff bushing did you end up installing?

I got the whiteline rear bushing.
I am also going to replace the clutch spring to the softer one.
Overall car drives much better, but need to drive it more as I got to burn out this old fuel.

I ended up removing the helper spring, which for a 2004 requires you to remove the clutch assy.
I took the car for a spin this morning, and removing the helper spring is amazing. The clutch engages high, but over all very happy for a 0$ mod. The clutch is heavier, so you may like your car even more.
The sad thing, is for the past 10 years I have neglected the car, and was modifying my 911. I just remembered why I love this car again!
Next up will be complete fluid change along with removing the oil filter cooler. There is tons of information about this, and I highly recommend you do the same.
