Replacing control arm bushings
Replaced the lower control arm bushings on my 2005 ZR known as Stitch. Taking it apart was NOT a big deal at all. What was? Getting the damn bushings out. We ended up drilling out the bushing material first then burn it the rest of the way. After that, cutting out the metal race.
Piece of advice to everyone? Spend the 200 bucks to buy the bushing press from Harbor Freight. I chose not to and it more than doubled the time needed.
Wanted to replace the upper control arms with the Z1 arms, but those won't ship until September. So, called Z Speed and the had the Kinetix arms in stock. Ordered those and installed.
First impression? Much tighter turn in, a ton more feedback (I replaced the steering wheel with an NRG and quick release hub) through the steering wheel. Definitely feel a bit more road harshness but that isn't a huge deal.
Will see how Stitch does this Saturday at the autocross!!!

We had a blast at the autocross. With rain threatening the whole day, we did NOT replace the street wheels/tires with the race wheels/tires.
So, on Michelin Primacy tires we were running within a second of the top two in F Street - a 2013 BMW M3 and 2016 Ford Mustang GT with Track Pack 1. Both were on 200 treadwear Michelin PSS.
The 350z/G35 were moved from F Street to D Street - we were faster than that class by 2 seconds. Control arms and good bushings (plus 1.0 degrees of negative camber) made a huge difference!!
Definitely worth the blood, sweat and beers.
