I have the four wheel kit. I can tell you the rear brakes SUCK. They don't fit the car properly. AP in their infinite wisdom decided to move the whole assembly about 1/2" out towards the fender thus screwing up the offsets on any new wheels you bought. In my case HREs.

Further the AP kit reduces the lug stud by about 1/4" - 3/8" so now there are fewer threads to bolt your wheels to. I can barely get the lug nut started and have less than one turn before snug.

The other issue is since AP decided to move the entire assembly 1/2" the calipers will not clear any wheels with a lip. I am not sure if ALL wheels with lips are affected but the HREs and I-Forged wheels are.

The lug nut issue alone makes the rear brakes UNSAFE and I fail to understand how AP can even sell them.

AP's response is "our brakes are perfect for the Z, not our problem".

The front brakes have no known fitment issues but I can't say how they drive since my rear wheels no longer fit. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Jak,
Please don't tell me that you're driving around with less than 1 turn on your rear wheels. I'm not familiar with the AP but do they come with the stud? can you replace the studs with the longer H&R one?
You probably know this already but the save point for any 12x1.5mm stud is 6.5 turns.

No I don't drive the car. The rear studs could be replaced but it involves removing the wheel bearings and part of the axle assembly to get the hub off.

Not sure of the offset. The wheels are 19 x 10.5. What wheels are you planning on running? I am getting information on wheels that will work with the rears. So far it looks like most of the Volks will work but you will have to allow for the additional 1/2" in your offset calculations.

I agree. As far as construction and build quality goes they are second to none. The issue is just fitment with certain wheels on the rear. If AP had held the stock spec as far as assembly location, there wouldn't be an issue. Thats what sucks is AP changed the stock spec which screws everything up.

I have just installed the rear AP kit. I have to say that I did not notice if the studs were too short for any of my 3 sets of wheels. They fit under stock 18's, HRE 547R 19" X 10" offset ??, & Volk CE28N 18" X 9.5" offset 34. When I ordered the HRE's I allowed them to figure the offset with the understanding that a BBK was going to be installed.

Guy's You are in luck. Endless usa makes a r6 pot front and a r4 pot rear for the 350z. It is on the red 350z that was at international auto salon this past month in Los angeles

We have the ability to actually help you decide a wheel package and troubleshoot whether they will fit your current rims or not.

Default AP BBK

I have the front 14.25 6 piston AP kit. Install was dead on and quality seems to be top notch IMHO. I've had mine for a few months and have no issues. Brake dust is not as bad as stock but it is still worst than I would like. I give 2 thumbs up for AP.

AP is one of the preminent brake firms in the world.....period.

Cerainly your choice to purchase a rear BBK, just as when you buy a front BBK, also involves wheel selection. There are very often times different options available to you if you run stock brakes (non track) vs BBK's.

We ahve installed quite a few sets of front and rears without incident.

I have the front kit on my Z, and even though it was originally designed for a 300ZX TT, the fit was perfect, and I have gobs of room with my wheels (Work Emotion).

As for brake dust, play around with diferent pads. I have Hawk HP + on my setup and brake dust is not bad in the least...much better than it was with the stock pads (non track)

You didn't do your research before making your purchase. You should have specified your wheel and offsets prior to purchasing the BBK. That's your fault chief. I have the 6 piston 363mm AP and it is bang on the button in fitment and quality. I have a big rear lip with a low offset wheel and I have room to spare both front and back without spacers....

Don't believe that about the rears, something is different about his kit than any others I have seen. I have the front and rears on my car and I can tell you that they are incredible. I fit 315/30/18s in the rear on an 18" Nismo rim with a +30 offset and no stud issues. VRT track races a bunch of their cars with the APs and the stock studs with no problems, if they were only hanging on by a thread then they would have snapped off on the first turn. Buy the APs, you won't be sorry.
