Who painted their stock brembos???
Has anyone tried painting their stock brembo brake calipers to another color?
I am thinking about peeling off the brembo stickers, repainting it to a RED color and ordering new white brembo stickers.
Has anyone tried this yet? I was also wondering if the finish would be as nice as the yellow paint that it already comes with.
Any inputs and/or advice will greatly be apreciated.

I would like to know as well .... I'd like to switch to red or black calipers ... but I would want to keep the Brembo logo on there as well .... any ideas on how to do this?

i think the 'Brembo' logo is actually painted on;
i would recommend getting them powder coating or at the very least, professionally painted by a body shop or something...
as far as the logo, you may be able to get it reproduced with some kind of vinyl decal or something...

This really doesnt seem all that hard .... all it takes is some downtime for the car.
I am gonna ask around and see how much $$ for powdercoating (any ideas anyone?) .... I can make the vinyl stencils and use some G2 to repaint the logos ...

G2 would probably also work for the calipers themselves. It leaves a nice smooth finish on other brakes. The hardest part would be stripping the orange paint off. If I had access to a media blaster I wouldn't hesitate. Looking at the service manual, disassembling the pistons from the calipers doesn't look that hard either, jsut need to replace the piston seals.

fasta,
some people will spend a lil bit of money and some spare time to customize something for their own personal gratification ... let us do our thing and you go do yours

HaHa, I'm not saying that customizing your own Z is a bad thing and I'm not trying to flame but I just couldn't help it when I read nissan_fanatic wrote..."I have been thinking about doing it to mine too, I think red on the my chrome silver would look awesome. Red will definately look good on CS but so does the gold Brembro's!.If I ever have to re-paint my calipers for any reason, it will definately be RED. My friend that has a black Evo always tells me "Why didn't my Evo come with gold calipers? Damn, it would look so good on this car!"
It's just that once you see something too much, you will not appreciate it as much as people who don't get to see the gold calipers.

I used the G2 Caliper Paint Kit.. I first cleaned the calipers with a brush and a little break cleaner, they were not very dirty. Then I wet sanded them by hand to just scuff them up a bit. My DC eats batteries and I am recharging them as I type.. they should be able to take a shot or two in a few minutes.
Well, the brakes are all nice and red and slick and shiny! I am actually quite pleased with the way they came out. Not bad for a brush job. If one could spray that special paint on, it might look just a bit better but this stuff smoothes out real nice. The only drawback is it dries out very quick so a second pass has to be fast and you have to add a second coat within 15-20 min or it just tears the paint up... I think if I can find some Brembo stencils they will look super nice.... Can't tell the difference between some powder coating jobs I have seen.
I got the stencils and painted them on... clear coated them with high temp VHT Clear and wow they are nice.. total cost of project $75.00 vs $400 to have them disassembled and blasted and re-powder coated and new seals.......
Sorry I don't have pics of the final job but trust me don't let these semi-poor pictures throw you off...I tell you mine look really nice and the physical and visual quality has not really been damaged and it was only $75 and a few hours of hobby time! You would not really be able to tell the difference except for a some what more uniform powder coat application.

Check It!
Ok! I have my car apart and on stands right now doing all this mod and detailing crapola.. My buddy AL503 and I are going to install the rear springs and the brakes tomorrow...
But here is a shot or two of the goodies...
I got the stencils here....http://shop.store.yahoo.com/eagleday/brcapaki.html
Kinda spendy but I had to have them.. I did not get any for the rear ones though. I thought I might have been able to reuse the logo part but nada! One time shot with these things and I was a bit nervous doing the front ones.. but they came out nice...I guess I can live with out the rear logo...
New Hawk pads as well........
I decided to paint the rotors as well..just the part that is very visible. I put a wheel on there and it looks good. Nice transition..the poor rotor upgrade..
The brakes should look great sitting behind my new wheels and tires...
