Hawk pads
Ok everyone need opinions please. I just ordered my Hawk brake pads front and rear and was wondering if everyone installing these are turning their rotors or not. I have always thought it was a good idea to turn rotors when replacing pads but was wondering what you guys have been doing. Thanks for the input.

That's no longer a requirement with todays rotors. Everything will depend on the condition of the existing rotors. If they are still smooth then don't worry. If you feel grooves in them then have them turned. I put my Hawk pads in without doing anything and they grab just fine and smooth.

I had mine installed at 12K miles without resurfacing the rotors. I immediately bedded them (process where you brake super hard from 60mph to 10mph six times in a row) and they are fine.
They did squeek a little at low speeds for a few weeks, but eventually went away.
