Default iForged + Big Brake kit question - PROBLEM, PLEASE HELP

I just purchased my 20" iForged Evolution wheels (20x9 front, 20x10 rear) configured for the Greddy Grex big brake kit (chrome / gold calipers) through Paul (GREAT guy) @ Avalon Racing. He's at SEMA right now and can't respond to my e-mails so can any of you help?

My dilemma is this, I'm now having second thoughts about going with the Grex kit, but my wheels are configured for this kit so what are my options if I decide to go with say, StopTech, Brembo, AP, Rotora, etc.? Does this mean I have a big problem on my hands? I recall Paul @ Avalon explaining to me about the front wheels would be okay to clear most any big brake kit, but the rears are what the 'configuration' is really for from iForged.

Here are my two primary concerns :

1. If I install a BBK other than Grex, and not having it fit due to my configuration.

2. If there will be a big ugly gap between the iForged wheel and stock brake/rotor because I configured my wheels for the Grex setup as opposed to configuring my wheels for anothe setup such as StopTech, Rotora, Brembo, etc.?

Any knowledgeable feedback would help. Thanks.

answer #1: "configured" means that the front wheels have the appropriate offset and backspacing to clear the larger front brake caliper. It is unlikely the Grex caliper is any larger than a Brembo, Stoptech, AP, Wilwood, etc caliper.

answer #2: you bought a 20" inch wheel, so unless you are getting 16" front rotors there will be a big ugly gap with any brake kit., OEM or otherwise.

Cheers,

PeteH

I think you should be ok. The Greddy BBK should not be too much different from Brembo, Stop Tech in size. You got give it a shot. Post some pics of your wheels.

thanks for the response. Does anyone know what BBK I can go with besides Grex? I'm leaning towards StopTech, Rotora and Brembo. Aren't the StopTech reps on these boards? If any of them could help that would be a plus.

Paul isn't at SEMA? Oh, maybe I understood him wrong. I haven't been getting a response after two e-mail attempts, maybe he's just extremely busy?

If you are like most and got offsets in the mid-low 20's or teens, you are going to have a gap between the brake caliper and the back of the wheel. Heck on my own car (AP brakes), I have 18x8.5 +30 wheels up front and I could almost fit another caliper on top of the AP one with the room I have. Good thing though is it allows for excellent brake cooling

Well if you are looking at Stoptechs they have a guide you can print out to tell you if they will clear. I know that my 19x9.5 +23 offset Volk GT-7s barely and I mean barely clear my 14" Stoptechs in the rear. If the caliper was a little wider they wouldn't have cleared.
