Default Alignment ?? for people w/ S-Tune susp.

I installed the S-Tune suspension in my Z a couple months back. I took the car in for an alignment. Ever since, the car has pulled to the right. At the time of the alignment, I had new tires put on as well. I took the car back and had them double check it all and even had them flip the tires from side to side. All of my alignment specs are in the green as well. Has anyone else had a hard time getting there car aligned after installing an S-Tune kit?

Thanks!!!!

I have the S-Tune. No pulling to the right after alignment. What kind of machine is your shop using, and was it calibrated recently? There's a TSB for pulling to the right, but not related to alignment.

The shop was using a Hunter machine. Not sure about the last time it was calibrated. I'll check into that TSB as well. Thanks for your help.

It was an issue associated with the TSB. I had to install a compression rod and everything is cool now. Although, Nissan wouldn't honor the TSB due to my Nismo suspension... That's another story, but I am very happy that the car is going straight now.

I had mine installed a while back at Performance Nissan and aligned at the same time by them. No pulling to the rite so far.

Nismo suspension should be covered under warranty if they were installed by a dealer. But I guess you installed them yourself? It's nice that you have the technical skills but it sucks that they don't honor the same suspension installed by non-nissan techs.

as per nismo specs, it lowers by 20mm or .66". front wheel well gap is practically diminished. rear wheel well gap is quite large, still...

Technical Service Bulletin - Not a recall but a known issue identifed by any car manuf. that usually requires servicing/adjusting/replacing components.

Hey, can you give me an idea of what kind of rod they put in (part #, & price would be great).

I've had this problem on my Roadster since day one (and had the dealer align it and it still didn't fix), and I'm sure they definitely wouldn't honor the TSB now that I have Hotchkis springs.

If a compression rod would fix it that would be fantastic!

Thanks!

I know the TSB was issued for the 2003 Z. I would imagine that the parts didn't change a whole lot, but I figured Nissan would have corrected this issue with the 04s. This is the compression rod part # 54468-CD084. Very spendy. I got it through someone who worked at the dealership. List on it is $184.50, I got it for $110.70

There is also a sleeve that is suppose to come off the original rod. It was stuck on mine and I could not get it off. I had to take the arm to the dealership to figure out what part it was. It is this part #. 129D 40173-33 P00. $12.53

Thanks much, that helps a lot! It sucks the TSB is for 2003 only. My Roadster is a very early build date (May 2003), one of the first off line, and has had a lot of 2003 issues. Unfortunately my dealer is the type that if there is no TSB for my particular make and model, then the problem doesn't exist...
