How do these compare to the factory Brembo calipers? How many pistons are they? I know the rotors are larger than the Brembos but when it comes to having even brake wear, and more heat dissipation which is better? Also these will bolt up to the non brembo Zs correct?

The Akebono is a 14" kit which means it will be a little heavier than the brembo set up. The brakes calipers are 4 piston front and 2 piston rear. Our kit is also a direct bolt on kit. We also offer the front rotors in a 2 piece design. Click here for details on our 2 piece design.

NEW Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front Rotors are in stock!!!

The Z1 Motorsports 2-piece lightweight Akebono front rotors have been extensively torture tested on the street and the track. Over a year and a half in development and materials testing has brought us these ultra-light weight rotors. Tipping the scales at a scant 20 lbs. each, that's a savings of 10 lbs. versus the stock 30lb each for 370Z sport rotors. These rotors have enabled us to enjoy the nimble handling and remarkable response derived from reduced unsprung weight, while allowing us to repeatedly go deep in the braking zone. They have been pushed hard on our own high-powered street cars and helped to keep our track car highly competitive.

Features include an open face design with expanding directional vane cooling. A cooling tract that is 60% wider than the factory rotors paired with the directional vane cooling has proven to perform better than any straight vane or pillar style rotors we have tested. Alloy rotor irons are heat-treated and stress relieved to deliver the best performance in all conditions. This process keeps the disc stable at extreme temperatures and reduces the effects of warping and cracking, resulting in increased rotor life and maximized performance.

Lightweight rotor hats are machined from forged 6061 aluminum blanks, and are finished with heat treating and a premium black-hard anodizing. Fastening hardware includes heat-treated M6 slot nuts and quenched and tempered SAE Grade 10.9 bolts, larger fasteners than the majority of our competitors’ 2-piece brake rotor hardware. These heavy-duty fasteners translate to higher yield and proof strengths, especially critical in systems as crucial as braking. Being enthusiasts, we kept rotor rebuild cost reasonable without sacrificing top tier performance. Now you can perform at the track and look good doing it without breaking the bank. So go ahead, take 20 pounds off the front axle, you won't be disappointed.

These rotors can be purchased separately or with the Akebono kit. PM for pricing

For the two piece front rotors' hat, do you have other colors instead of black?
