I just bought my Z three weeks ago for $1000 over invoice....why?...because it is a 35th Anniversary Edition and it was the second one to arrive in the state of WA. The first one was an auto tranny....I wanted a 6 speed. I stated with the internet and then confronted the dealer face to face. Dealers aren't working those below invoice deals on these anniversary editions. In fact, when I bought mine, another guy was looking at the same car and the dealership was working him over with the second sticker trick....ADM (additional dealer markup)....that was $4000!!! If I didn't get this rare edition, I had another deal lined up for $200 over invoice on a touring model....glad I went with the 35th Anniv Edition...cost me more, but well worth it. This car is great!!!

I am a proud father of an 18 year old kid that just got a free ride to ASU. I have a 2004 Base 350Z with NISMO parts. My son (turned 18 this March) had saved $13K at his part time job. I helped him negotiate an awesome deal at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale. My son bought the new 2005 Base Z for $24,995 plus fees ($27,750 out the door) on a five year loan at 6% interest, with a payment of $291 a month. The loan is in my son's name only (I did not co-sign). I know he could not have got financing on the internet, given that his credit file was literally, empty. They offered him a job. He starts there as a part time salesman next month when High School is out! This story has not been embellished...

I want to trade my 03 DB Performance Z for an '05 Super Black Base Z. I want a Black '05 and I don't care about the options it doesn't have. I didn't mod my '03, so I'm prolly going to go aftermarket anyways. Avg trade-in for my Z with 13,700 miles is around 24K, dealers say 22k. Anyhow, I want 25,600 which is nowhere near avg trade-in, but STILL over 2K under retail. So it's not like the dealer is going to lose money (they never do. pfft.) So since I want so much for my Z, I offered $500 over invoice. What do you guys think?

I think it's a valid strategy.
