It is around $2.80 in Southern California (I heard today that it is over $3.00 in San Francisco!) I might curtail my driving if it hits $4.00. I'm so glad I don't drive a Lincoln Navigator.

I am in NJ so it around like 2.19 for premium where I go. But my car isn't the problem my wife Xtrerra get Ferrari like mpg 14-16. At least I get still 20-21 mpg. Anyway I don't drive it very hard so wouldn't change anything just yet till we are pay like over $3-4 a gallon. And even then I have a Neon still.

I am already paying $2.85+ for premium; I think if it hits $3.75-$4.00 I might slow down some, but I have payed way more then this for fuel in other parts of the world so I don't think I would stop.

i spend about $80 a month on gas if I don't go to houston. I drive my car harder than average and mostly top and go. I am WOT a lot and only get 18-19... I know I can drive to get 24ish mpg but I wasn't having fun with my car when I did that and that would only save me about $20 a month (gladdly spend $20 to have fun in my car). If it goes 25-30% higher than it is now I may start driving in 24mpg mode

Gas is no more expensive today than it was 45 years ago. In 1960 when I got my first car gas was selling for 25 cents per gallon and the average wage was $1.00 per hr. Today gas costs $2.50 per gallon and the average wage is $10.00 per hr. a ten fold increase in both the price of gas and the price of labor.
Gas would have to cost at least $5.00 per gallon at today's wages to start really having an impact on people's driving habits here in the USA.

True to a certain point; most people that can afford to buy a Z (without putting themselves into major debt) can afford 30-70 for a fill-up; but not everyone. Personally it will take a lot more then $2.85 per gallon to stop me driving. Like I said previously; I have spent far more on a fill-up outside the US.

We're at about $2.40/ gal. here for premium. What unnerves me is how we see this spike in prices at the pump EVERY year in late spring. No matter what the market does, you can count on the price spike. The big gas companies report record profits - they just did again for the 1st Qtr. I'm convinced there's something to that...........kinda like how the airlines price their seating.........

I must say the Z is quite good with gas. Its been awhile for me since owning a car. For the performance the Z puts out it gets exceptionally good gas mileage. I owned a supercharged Frontier and i was lucky to get 15mpg. I just shake my head at people driving the big rigs. Like excursion, navigators, escalades etc. Here in montana its around 2.20 for regulare and 2.40 for premium. Due to the elevation it isn't necessary for me to use the premium stuff. If I go FI then I may increase octane. I have my own mixture of toluene and MMT at my disposal as well.

Bonaire, N.A. = 2.20 a QUART! (and thats in american dollars!) we have two trucks there (small trucks - similar to a tacoma or b2200) and each is a 100+ fill up everytime at the pump. i haven't been back since the gas price surge, but i am returning in July, cant wait to see how much it costs then.
i have a question, although the US had an increase in gas prices does this too mean that the rest of the world follows suit? or do they just price out each barrel with each country destination in mind?
