WOW Endland has good public transportation. I forgot who pays for the fuel to power the buses to transport all those people. the people do. In the end, the people always pay, and the corporations continue to monopilize.

It's crazy expensive in Europe too. Germans pay about 1.28 Euro per liter! For those who dont want to convert that to dollars and gallons that is $6.25 per gallon. Luckily working for the US Gov allows you to get the gas on base for about $2.30 per gallon.
With my driving on the autobahn (120+ mph & 14 MPG) I can go through 1 gallon of gas every 7 minutes.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of $10.00/gal. Paying almost $3.00/gal. doesn't stop me from commuting 50 miles round trip and making court appearances sometimes over 130 miles round trip. I make sure to drive as much as I want on the weekends since that's my own time. If I have to drive this much during the weekday for work, I'll be damned if I don't give myself as much mileage on my own time.
But, if push came to shove, yeah, $200.00 per fill-up or about three times more than what I'm paying now would force me to re-evaluate my driving habits.

i just filled my truck up!!!! both tanks came to 70 bucks what the hell? what makes me feel more upset about spending 70 dollars for gas is that the motor in my truck is a 350 Crate! NO EFI!
thank god i dont drive it everyday and that my brother splits the cost of gas with me, but still....its becoming no fun to drive anymore.

Well, considering I have no choice but to drive to get to work, I'll have to pay whatever they want to charge. It irritates me that I hear government officials saying "the gas prices haven't had much of an impact, people are driving anyway." Yeah, no s#@t! It's around ~$2.40 here for premium right now, could be worse I guess. My Xterra only needs the cheap stuff but unfortunately it gets 18mpg with a tailwind.

You are kidding aren't you, public transport over here sucks something chronic !!!!! It's practically impossible to find a mode of public transport that goes where you want to get to when you want to get there ....... realistically unless you are in the minority of people who work in city centres you need to be driving !!!! I physically cannot get to work on public transport within 2 hours and my office is a 30 minutes drive from birmingham city centre (Birmingham being the 2nd city you understand !!! )
