Just kidding...lol...Seriously though, If you can afford it...Get the Track Model...it's got the VDC, Traction Control System, Brembro Brakes, etc...very much needed, especially if you live in areas that get snow, sleet, and heavy rain, like I do...ugh!

Thats a simple decision like samw said. If you want to slide around in your leather and lose a part of your manhood using navigation when you get lost then get the touring. If you want a great sports car with cloth seats that hold you in the seat on those fast sweepers and lightweight wheels and brakes that will save you when that woman in the SUV on the cell phone ahead of you decides to make a last minute U-Turn on a 55 mph highway and slams on the brakes then get the track. I might be a little bias toward one of the models though.

The touring also have the VDC and traction control system. It has the blose system, leather, electric and heated seats. On the other hand, the track has lighter 18" Rays wheels and brembo brakes.
I went with touring and upgraded my brakes to Stoptech.

Heck of a lot cheaper to add leather and upgrade the stereo in a track than add Brembos or other brakes and forged rims to a touring. GET THE TRACK. Better yet, just get a 35th anniversary or an '06 Grand Touring and get it all (except the Rays, but the new 5 spoke rims are SWEET).

Track rims look good but are too narrow...brembos are great brakes but not as good as the aftermarket kits. If you want a track, might as well buy an enthusiast/performance and add rims+brakes. If you want something a little more luxurious with features more befitting the $30k price tag (at least in terms of what most people expect)...the touring is the way to go.

In November of 2004 I was able to get my 05 Touring for almost $3000 off MSRP. I doubt I could've got any below MSRP for the "just released" 300hp track model.
I don't know what the market is like now, but that was my experience. I've been really happy with my decision. And if your going to get leather, go for frost or burnt orange.

Ive got an 03 touring... I love it but the seats are HOT in the summer (not the initial sitting, it creeps up on you after a while) and I cant wait to get rid of that stinking bose head unit! (cant turn off auto volume on the 03's)
I love the 18's since it'll be a while before I can upgrade, VDC is Niiiiiiiice in the rain.
Unless you're spending a lot of time on a track, brembo's probably arent worth it
and finially, My wife said "get one with heated leather seats" or I might have bought a new performance instead of a 2 year old touring
