That is BS to me.

I'm 37 and have no tickets or accidents SPOTLESS record and I have been quoted $145-150 a month JUST for the Z. Granted I've only checked one place so far but it is actually what I was guessing (about $150 a month)

I'm not saying you're BS but I mean the way rates are soooo freakin' different depending on age location SEX etc. with 2 people who both have spotless records. I know yours isn't much lower than my quoted price but I would think being 16 years older more behind the wheel time than you might account for something!!! Women suck hehehe kidding.

Ok I'm done and moaning for now...

6 months or less and

waaayyyy too many emoticons for one post

How is that possible. My son, who is 18 and on my insurance, pays $1,200 a year for liability only, with a clean record. I have three cars: 2003 Z, 2004 G35X and a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. I pay $2,500 for those three cars.

I'm 25 and in PA. I pay about $840 every 6 months for a 2003 350z and a 2004 Civic DX coupe (full coverage on both). Out of that the Z is $360, the Civic on the other hand is $480.

I am new to the forum but am also have been a Nationwide agent for 6 years. A few things to consider when you shop for auto insurance. The driver is the main factor in the rate, not the car. Your age, whether you are married, own a house, have multi cars, drivers record and now a days credit are the main factors. Be sure to tell your agent about your upgrades so they can factor in the value of your Z. If you dont want to tell them about your FI engine if you have one or all your upgrades thats cool, but if you get into an accident thier job is to bring it back to stock not how you had it if you didnt let them factor in your upgrades. adding 12,000 to my Z cost me 100 dollars more every 6 months, well worth it if you ask me.

danisr1 - Quick question... I have Nationwide. My only car on my insurance is my Z and as noted its $220 a month due to my record... I have a 2nd car (95 Celica) on my parents policy so I can get away paying only like $35 a month on it... Would it be possible to make the Celica the primary car on my policy and the Z a "secondary" or "recreational" vehicle and drop my rates dramatically? Or no chance?

I am not sure how they would rate your car in PA but down in Fl they have got away from secondary car rating as it is hard to verify and a lot of people have the same idea as you. One point i could give you is that Nationwide wont rate a male single driver as an adult until 30 in some states so you might want to call your agent and ask him about that, if so you might want to call around since a bunch of companys still have the 25 rule. If you have a "kid" your are rated as an adult no matter what your age, if you catch my drift. any other questions let me know.

Thumbs down

Try this on for size.......

Two Tickets - Speeding on Both
20 Years Old
$360 per month........

That's when I had my own policy with just me!

I have recently became engaged though and now I have her as a primary and me as a secondary on two cars and only pay $210 per month! WTF? Just because she's a female? Don't really make since b/c she's had two tickets and a wreck and she's 20 too. Insurance is screwy!

I pay $115 per month (10 payments per year). I am 24, clean driving record. I am a step 10. (9 is the best). I save 35% because I have Lo-Jack installed, VIN etching, passive alarm (duh). I also save an additional 5% because I get my insurance through AAA.
