I'm far from an expert, but from what I've heard, the tire problems are gone, infact there haven't been any reported cases on the '05's. Not sure about the tranny... what was the problem there?

If your uncertain about the reliability of the 350Z, buy something else.

I have an 05 Track, and have had no problems with tire wear or grinding gears.

In fact, I don't think i've ever ground my gears! Smooth operator.
