If you can get what you want in a 2005 then you should be able to get a great deal. The changes aren't that great if you can save a couple thousand extra. (IMO) I just picked up a SB 35th. for almost 5K off the dealer sticker.

I have to believe if I bought a 2006 GT (which is almost the same...I said "Almost") I would spend at least a couple of thousand more and when you factor in the interest on that its an even bigger savings.

All you can do is ask, but do your pricing research first. I did a cold call and told them to make it worth my while. They called back 20 minutes later and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Thats how I like to buy a car......

Good Luck and welcome. The car and the folks on this forum are both AWSOME....

The 06 has a lot of new features on it that make it worth it plus more time to make fixes to the few problems that earlier Z's had. Drive both and choose which one you like better.

Here's the skinny on the changes from '05 to '06:

All models get 18" wheels
All models get low tire pressure monitor (2005 model introduced)
All models get increase in HP, from 287 to 300HP (only MT)
All models get LED taillights (which look really cool!!)
Models with HID (enthusiast and up), get high beam and low beam HIDs.
All models also receive minor front bumper and grille changes.

That's all i can think of right now. there might be a few additions i didnt mention.
If you're planning on purchasing an '05, you can prol get $1000+ minus invoice. But if you decide to get an '06, consider adding an extra $500-1000 on top of invoice.
Good luck and happy shopping!!

Sports cars are a impulse buy. You see the 350Z, fall in love, and drive off. Driving a 350Z is more fun than “waiting.” Guarenteed.
