A different exhaust option for APS single turbo setup
Well after searching thru threads I've found that most people either get the APS true dual exhaust or a single exhaust setup. I already have the APS exhaust on my setup which sounds quieter than stock and I don't like the look of a single exhaust. I know I'm going to need a reverse Y pipe mated to any dual exhaust I choose...
So I'm in the process of switching over from a UTEC to the Uprev and the car is only a weekend driver so I would like to go with something a bit more aggressive sounding. I know there's an issue with optimal pressure and such..that being said, the APS exhaust is 2.5 inch...I've always wanted the Greddy for the sound so I was looking at the Greddy Ti-C which is 70mm/2.75 inch piping...is it advisable or should i just stick with a true dual 2.5 inch like maybe the HKS?

I think you're right I wont be happy regardless so I'm just gonna do this.
A "divorced" wastegate dumps the gases directly into the atmosphere, instead of returning them with the rest of an engine's exhaust. This is done to prevent turbulence to the exhaust flow and reduce total back pressure in the exhaust system. Divorced wastegate dumper pipes are commonly referred to as "screamer pipes" due to the unmuffled waste exhaust gases and the associated loud noises they produce.
^^ This sounds like what I wanted anyway.
small turbo/low boost = bigger wastegate amirite?

Thanks ...I know you had a APS Single turbo build previously...which exhausts have you tried? And did your setup sound quieter than stock also?

remove your resonators if it has any (havent looked up a diagram on the aps dual so not familar if it has any or not)i have the greddy tiC dual all the way out, removed the resonators in the middle and got some stainless tubing to replace them sounds very mean . that and an open dump and ull be more than satisfied

Thanks for the tip my friend. So after reading around and asking a bunch of dumb questions, the conclusion is I won't lose power or torque by going with a bigger exhuast so I made up my mind to go with the Greddy Ti-C true dual...the plan is to have Performance Motorsport custom fab me a pipe to mate it correctly to the APS 3.5 inch downpipe. I guess we'll have to remove the resonators too. There is something to remove in the canisters at the exit of the pipes as well right?
