Default New member, quick question about VINS

(sorry in advance if this is in the wrong forum)

I'm in the market to buy a 350z... and i'm buying off of a local person... the price is amazing but i want to check all the vins...

i did a search here and came up with this

are those the only places i can check? is it stored anywhere else? (call me paranoid but i've bought a stolen car before because i only checked the dash and firewall)

thanks ahead for your help... and yes i did do a search before i asked this..

so are those the only places that have a vin?

Are you telling me all those places are not enough for you to feel safe?

I think the VIN number etched and indented on the firewall is a pretty good indication that the car has not been "chop shopped" It would be hard to reproduce the VIN on the firewall or erase it without making it obvious that they erased it.

It's suspicious that you want to know more then those places to look for a VIN number since the firewall should satisfy you that the VIN has not been tampered with.

there is nothing suspicious about it at all.. like i said i bought a stolen car before by accident.. and i'm cautious now and would like to check every single 1.
