Well my wife is trying to keep me from buying the Z for 1 reason....My daughters safety. I have a 2 year old daughter that still rides in a car seat and that I have to occasionally have to pick up from the Baby sitters.

My question is:
Does the Z have the ability to turn the passenger airbag off so that my daughter can ride safely?

 

Dude, you may check on this, but isn't it illegal to put a car seat in the front seat of a car? It's not worth it.

And I'm not aware of a switch to turn the airbag on/off.

 

I believe if you request your delaership to do so, they can install an airbag shut off switch.

 

your wife has a valid complaint. i had the same complaint and i just waited until my kids got older. probably not the answer you wanted but she is one of the parents as well.

 

No it is not illegal, a lot of manufactures like Toyota (trucks) have shut off switches for airbags, I was just hoping the Z had this feature. I have 2 other cars so I may use one of the others when I have to pick her up.

If I were you, I would check with Cali DPS.

 

Buy the Z, and use a different car to pick up your daughter... Heck use the Z for the weekend curises with the wify

 

I suggest you just buy a G35. It's a luxury car with the sports car feel to it as well, but it has a backseat and you can definately take your daughter with you everywhere safely 'n still get alot of stares. Your family comes first my man, If I had a daughter, I'd give up the Z 'n buy a G35 in a heartbeat for her =).

 

+1 I love my Z, but the G35 is such a classy looking car. If I didn't have my Redline, I would be sportin a G no questions about it.

Thanks for the advise! Me and the wifey are now considering a G35 instead of the Z. I agree with you, she's more important and that looks more like the logical choice.

why not just keep the car you have now and get a Z for summer driving?

 

Check the Z Owner's Manual...Oddly enough, Nissan devoted about 10 pages on proper installation of a child safety seat on the passenger seat. I wouldn't do this, but definitely NOT illegal.

 

F that, get a damn mini van for the kid and buy the Z.
