Default Hopefully getting my Z soon.

Just got a quote for $28711.80 OTD for a 06 Enthusiast. I was a little worried at first because my loan amount was only for 29K but I got a few different quotes and this is the best I have found. Was worried that I couldn't get it for under 29K. Very excited even though I haven't signed any papers yet and I'm sure a lot can happen between now and the time I go in to the dealership, which should be around the 12th of November. Very excited.

If you are worried that it looks to good to be true, have the dealership fax you a buyer's order showing all the numbers.

No they haven't faxed anything yet. I am going to contact him in a few weeks. I'm in the process of moving and didn't want to buy right in the middle of that. Looking towards second week of Nov. He just gave me a sale price of $27711 and after tax, title and registration a price of $28711. I did get a break down from another dealership and the tax, title and registration sound about right. The sale price sounds low but he said they sell under invoice so I guess I will find out in a few weeks.

Sorry about that... read that wrong and thought you asked if they sent it.

Sounds like something to get you in the door. I don't see any dealer knocking 3 grand off an 06 already when they are incredibly hard to get ahold of atm.

The sale price is $27711. Just out of curiosity, what is the MSRP?

Is this for a manual or an auto? If it's for an auto you're getting a great deal, but you're getting ripped off if it's for a manual. Invoice pricing should be available on edmunds.com, take a look and configure the car to find out the exact price and then go from there.

Noob question here . . . OTD = ?

And, any good rules of thumb for how much to offer over invoice for an '06 Z?

Thanks!

How is $28711.80 OTD getting ripped off??? I think you need to look a little closer at the prices and dont forget to add tax, title, and registration to the cost. For me, 400 over invoice comes out to @ 30,000 OTD. So, if you can get it for less, you got a good deal.

oh, OTD stands for 'Out the Door'. It refers to the cost of the car + tax + title + registration. Its the total cost of the vehicle.

Well I also dont understand how he is being ripped off?! I checked on edmunds without none options its invoice come out as $27k, plus TTL should be around that $28711 that he told us. Seems like he is getting a little under invoice.

Oh damn, my bad everyone, I didn't realize he was talking about the OTD price. Yeah, if that's the case, that's an excellent deal either way!!!

I also got quoted $28,653 OTD from a dealer for the same exact car. But they want me to put a $1000 deposit down to secure the car. Not sure I want to do that.

why not? If thats the car you want, your getting a good deal. Do they have to order the car or are they getting it from another dealer? How did you get such a good deal?

Found the MSRP and it is $29150. It is the manual transmission though.

I am working with Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Springs, MD and I just got an email from Sheehy Nissan in Manassas, VA saying they could beat the $28711 OTD price offered by Herb Gordon Nissan. Hopefully, between two of them at least one isn't just trying to get me in there. I'm taking the emails to the dealership when I go so I'm not paying more than what they have on the emails.

I'm also not financing through them. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. I already have a check for up to 29K so it's kind of like I am paying cash to them, I guess.

Getting it from another dealer. That's just what the guy quoted me over the phone. I sure hope he is not telling me that price just to get me into the dealership. I'd be pissed if they pulled the ol bait and switch on me.

Ya that's what I'm doing. It's better that way to just bring in the check instead of financing through them. If you finance through them there is still a chance that they can rip you off by fudging numbers. At least with the check you walk right in and hand it to them and walk out with the car. I'd like to stay at the stealership for the least amount of time I can.

I suggest that you offer $26,235 for the car.
