Buying 06 Enthusiast

I already got an invoice price
The issue im responsing is that the quote you got is to much on 06 enth, so i want to suggest you to search more different links for more different prices in order to compare. That's what im doing now.
i mean i don't know at this rate im gona get a 05 touring or enthuathist, i mean its gona turn out 29000 out the door with tax and all the other fees, and that's too much for an 18 year old like me

I just bought an 06 base with 1k of add ons for 26,500 in AR.
I got 1k over KBB for my trade in.... I'm pretty sure I beat the sales manager up over the deal.
My opinion... I got a BARGAIN for an 06 Z.

That was a great deal... I was just quoted $26,521 plus tax, tag, etc... for a new 06 Base Z. The invoice price for this car is $26031 (with out the dest. fee which is $605) . Do you think I'll be able to get anything better than this?? in FL?

They were quick to give a $1500 of sticker discount which was $28,465 after 1k add ons including $605 destination on the base.
They will push their Nissan NMAC financing first... which was high like 7%?
Anyway, I had an 02 Xterra XE 2WD with crank windows but BFG AT/KO tires, really clean 67,000mi. They gave me 10k for the trade in.
They would not come down on the payment, which I had figured 3 times during the test drive for their cost before financing.
I stopped talking to the sales guy and looked at trucks for an hour with my wife. I came back in and the sales manager asked if we were going to buy that day. I looked at him and said if we can get $475mo for 60mo with the sales tax paid or financed, I would buy.
His last offer was $487mo for 62mo. It was a no brainer... They asked if I had ANY money for a down payment and I thought about the $200 in my pocket my parents gave me for my birthday.... So in the end...
I got an 06 base 350Z with 1k addons for $487mo @ 62mo.
They gave up on the NMAC financing and got the deal done with a chase loan at 5.45% @ 62mo.
I barely qualified for a loan in 03 when I got the Xterra, and I dreamed about the Z since then... I was never convinced I could afford one until this month when I kept stalking the 06 silverstone 6mt sitting at the dealership and talked a little more with the sales dept.
And also... Im 27/married/mortgage on a 2 yr old house... my insurance only went up $27 on the Z from the X....

You can't get out of paying the dest fee... if you are... its just coming out of the sticker discount... you pay sticker minus dest? You are cheating yourself on half of their markup.

If the car is in the lot already, depending how long is been there that will tell them how much of the holdback they get. Holdback is sacred to dealers not even mentioned to them because it's not negotiable, that why car dealer rotate their lots every 90 days so they can not loose that money.
So, even if you get the car close to invoice they always make money on customers, they don't lose money.
Hope this help.

nandoarc you are assuming I owed nothing on the X. Which is where your math is wrong. If you back out of your calculation, you would find out very easily what I owed on the X.
Check it out...
Sale price = 26,500
+ 200 Dealer doc fee (BS)
= 26,700
* 6% AR sales tax (ONLY on sale price of vehicle -trade in)
= 1,002
+ 26,700
= 27,702
* 5.45% COMPOUNED MONTHLY (very tricky I know!)
= 4,848 Finance charges (paid in 62 equal payments of $78.19)
+ 27,702
= 32,550 total amount if pay off made in 62 months
- 200 Down payment
- 10,000 Trade in value
+ 8,371 Balance of X pay off
= 30,721
/ 63 months
= $487 per month
Where in the details are that I negotiated the first payment be paid by the dealership in lieu of paying my sales tax, thus 62 payments. Thank you very much.
That was some pretty simple math you came up with there before... didn't you forget some steps? (I'd love to sell you a car!)
