Default Will Price of 350Z Go Down Soon?

Hey Guys!

To all the owners of the 350Z, all I can say is: I AM SOOOO JEALOUS! DAH!

Anyways, I really want the 350Z real bad but cant afford it. With the new release in 2004 of the turbo edition and the convertible edition, do you guys think that the price of the 350Z will go down at all with these two new models coming out? I mean, maybe a year from now do you think the price will be less? I would really love to get the Z. Thanks!

youve been misinformed, there is no turbo version as of this time.

and I wouldnt expect the price to budge, if it moves it will be up. otherwise your best chance is that it stays the same, and the dealers start to budge off MSRP.

Depending on where you live in the country, some dealers will take quite a bit off the price of the car. I just got $1000 under MSRP for a Track.

It was some magazine that I was reading at the airport that talked about a turbo version, maybe I am dreaming but I am pretty positive it said in 2004 they were thinkin convertible and turbo models. But who knows...

You may be able to get one off the lot below MSRP, but the prices of options have actually went up so the overall MSRP price has increased.

It was Motor Trend in a section on factory aftermarket sales divisions and their products. I posted a scan here, but I can't seem to find the thread. Here it is again, but I woudn't put too much stock in it:

Motortrend is usually pretty reliable, though....

I know that people who have already bought the car don't want to see a turbo because they will be screwed on resale values, but..... just think of it this way. If they do come out with a turbo version, then when you are ready for your next car: BAM! You know what you will be getting!

I dont think there will be a turbo Z. Because it would cost too much and might make the same mistake like when they made the 300zx turbo. Its a Nissan not a name like BMW or Merchedes. Since they will have many aftermarket parts. It would be much cheaper to upgrade. Personally I dont like turbo. More expensive to maintain, eats up more gas. Replacing one of those would cost a fortune.

This is pretty much what i hear...

There is no Turbo Z planned as of now...

Convertible will be here somewhere around June/July 2003...

The price on the Z is not going down... they have actually slowed down production, and are even charging more for the Z's then they originally were... you can probably get one at or around MSRP at a dealer that has a large amount of excess Z's but ur not gonna do much better than that...
Hope this helps...

Isn't the Infiniti version of the GT-R supposed to be turbo, and maybe AWD? That will be the top end sports car in the Nissan lines in America, I suspect. It will have the most powerful engine option. Who knows if it will eventually trickle down into the Zs.

I think you're right if they badge it as a Nissan. If they badge it as the "Infiniti R35" then I think there is a chance that the Z could get a turbocharged engine. If it's the Infiniti R45 (A V8), then I think the Z will definitely get a turbo engine. If it comes out as a Nissan GT-R, then I agree with you, there's probably not too much chance of a Turbo Z. We'll have to wait until October when the GT-R is finally introduced! I can't wait!!!
