Question How should I go about my situation?

Well I just currently finished college in Automotive Technology and just recently landed a job at Nissan as a Technician and right now im thinking of buying or leasing a 350z Base or Enthusiast. Im only 20 right now and barely even have credit so I have to get a Co Signer for this. Well My parents told me I can go ahead and get one around my B-Day in May so im looking right now at the cost of owner ship of this vehicle overall and how much cheaper is leasing and what kind of limitations are there towards leasing? Ive got quoted for insurance around 425 every 6 months which is actually cheaper than my Rx7 turbo with liability . Now I still live at home so I dont have too much big bills to pay besides just my phone bill. So how does Leasing compare to buying? I went ahead and got quoted on a 06 base black and they told me 26k OTD so will leasing cost more overall? I really dont know if I want to keep this car so thats why lease has come to my mind. I dont want to pay more than 500 a month right now as im trying to save up for a place to live.
Thanks for taking a look.

Marlon.

42 Month Lease would run you (using 27450 as MSRP and Price of the vehicle with 7% sales tax) would run you $396.06 per month.

The simplest way to explain a lease is: your paying to utilize the car. Any wear and tear, bruises or dents, mods or accessories, and mileage will all affect the fees you will incur at the end of the lease. If there is no wear and tear and you stay below 15,000 miles per year for 42 months then you will be able to drop that Z right off at the nearest Nissan Dealerships at the end of the 42 months.

Leasing works for some. Leasing does not work for people who want to mod out their vehicle or drive over 15,000 miles per year.

Hope this helps.

buy a 2005 enthusiast model, keep the OTD price at 24k or below, your payments will be 500 or less (assuming parents have good credit and you don't put anything down or trade anything in)

I don't like the idea of a lease AT ALL. You are giving somebody $400 a month, and have the nothing in return. After 42 months at $400 a month that equals 16,800. That could be 16,800 spent on something you will actually own. Just my 2 cents.

Congratulations on your new job. Now that you are working, its time to cut mom and dad out of the picture. No borrowing - no cosignatures.

Save enough money for a down payment. With about 1/3 down you can get a car with no credit history.

With few exceptions, a lease is for people who cannot afford to buy a car. I recommend that you buy not rent.

If you follow my advise maybe the car will not be a new 350Z. Regardless, it will be your car with no strings (to mom and dad) attached.

Gotta love mom and dad. When I was 22 I graduated college and w/o a job and no credit purchased a brand new 350z thanks to the co-signature of my dad. I managed to pay for it the first few months w/ freelance jobs and then eventually got hired full time at an agency. I have made every payment on my own for two years, they just helped me get into it. So no strings here.
