Looking to pick up a 03/04 350z 6MT Touring/Enth
I live in Nor-cal (Sacramento/Fair Oaks) and the asking price for 2004 Touring 6MT $26,488 pre-tax with 44,694 miles on it. Trade-in for this car according to KBB for the touring is $18,510. So their asking price seems high. What do you think the rock bottom price is for this car. I assume taxes & fees are 10%. I was thinking $22k OTD take it or leave it.
Oh yes and I plan on paying for the car with cashier's check......so I expect to get a lower price than normal due to the fact I am paying cash up front.....

All cash buys you diddly squat on price. Seller does not care about souce of money. And a dealer actually makes more money if he arranges financing.
See your other thread; I'd suggest looking for Enthusiast to stay close to $22 K.

what do you get with the touring that you do not get with the enthusiast?
I was able to get the price down during my last car purchase....the Time value of money shows that it is better to have all the cash up front than over time.
So you are the guy who takes the lottery winnings over 20 annual payments instead of lump sum.....
So you think a 350z 6mt can be had with leather and what not for $22k OTD?

Knock off the smart-butt stuff.
The dealer/seller gets the full price of the car when he sells it regardless of how much cash you have; the balance comes from a loan. The advantage of all cash is it saves you paying interest. Unless of course you can obtain a loan at a lower rate than you can earn by investing the money in an investment.

leather means its at least touring if its oem leather..
realistic target price would be 22k before tax/title.. expect that with 35k+ miles as well
i think KBB is 28k(retail) for an 04 touring in good condition
if you do find one with good condition, clean title, low miles around that price... i would jump on it ASAP..
my 2 cents.. good luck with the hunt
