Default looking to buy/lease an 06

hello,
my name is joe, i'm new to the forum, and i'm looking to buy/lease an 06 350z. i'm in the tri state area, an was wondering if anyone knew if there is a strong lease program out right now for the z? i'm looking to spend around $400 p/m, and put about a thousand down. will i be able to get to that payment? or will i be stuck paying 500+? any feedback/advice is appreciated, and its good to be a member of my350z.com! here is a recent pic of my current ride, an 03 wrx wagon:

thanks for looking!
joe

Not sure where you are referring to as the 'tri-state area', but for current lease deals check out nissanusa.com or visit your dealer / check local papers. You shouldnt have a problem buying and getting your payment down to 400/month. You might be able to get a base model for 72 months with a decent apr. I would advise against going to the dealer with a "cost per month" mentality. Deal on the price of the car...not the payments.

Why would the price of the car matter more than the payments?
So if the sticker price is 20,000 and u pay 700 a month thats ok?

Because dealers can extend the length of the loan which makes your payments lower, but will cost you more in the end. The price of the car is ultimately what you will pay over the course of the loan (including interest), so focus on reducing that number. You should go into this knowing what price you need to get the car down to in order to satisfy your budget.

I also recommend that you shop by price not payments.

I agree- first negotiate the price, then negotiate the loan terms

A lease buy far will get you a lower payment. Don't put to much money down on a lease.

why not look at used 350z ? You can probably buy instead of lease easily at that monthly payment. (unless you are hell bent on new).
