Default mercedes c230 or z

just as the thread says, what will be more affordable to me? mercedes c230 or z? Anything under 25g's would be great as well. I'm a college student and I work part time for geek squad. I will probably get promoted... but im looking at paying 13g's on my own... and the rest from my old car and my mom will help me out... so any feedback is welcome. thanks

They are roughly the same price used. Z outperforms it and maintenance will be much less and cheaper. The only advantage to the Mercedes is probably to impress an air head gal at a date. But then again a Z will be good for that. Another reason to get the Mercedes is if you graduated from law school or a practicing real estate agent or some profession wear you have to wear a monkey suit.

I dont understand why people buy c230 or any class, well unless the c55 amg...other than c55amg ...waste of money ,just spending money buy a brand(just my thought)....i would rather go for something without the big rich brand but better like ACURA TL ...MAXIMA..g35 sedan or bmw ......those c230's are for moms........

+1 my ex wife has c230 convert. and it is crap, slow and already has problems with it only 32k miles. Own something more reliable get the Z and buy some new rims and tires and will help or eliminate the tire feathering problems.

i have a c230 as my daily driver...and the z for weekends...it depends on what you are looking for. the c230 isnt nearly as fast, doesnt handle as well but its a solid daily driver...good stereo...minimal road noise and all the usual comforts found in a benz. they are 2 completly different cars. drivingwise tho i would take the z all day.

I wouldn't buy a c230 for my main vehicle just because it makes you one of those people that can't really afford a mercedes...but can just barely get in there with the lowest, cheapest model. The only reason I would buy a benz is if I had the money to afford a minimal 500 version.

If you buy a c230....you're doing it for the wrong reasons period.

i do have a job, bestbuy. affordable as in anything less then 25k....we are probably going to put down 13k and then i will have to pay the remaining loan each month from a local credit union. I am 18 about to turn 19 and I am pretty confident that I will be able to make the payments.

Price wise you can get each for $25,000. That leaves the question of insurance. Contact your agent and price both.

is your mom getting a car for herself or she's getting it for you ???
I would choose BMW 323i over C230 ..... cuz c230 looks kinda too girly and old...but if it's your mommy's gonna get herself a car and let you drive sometimes to school then you pretty much ended up whatever she chose...
BTW. if i were you i would say mom Im gonna save up some money from now and could you just get me a crappy used for daily, school driving now(corola,or civic...)....and i will get a better ones like Z or something better when i have enough save up or blabla.....you still have long way to go only 18 ...dont rush on cars....cars will be nicer and nicer , better and better every year...no need to rush it unless you really like it...good luck ....tell us what ur mom and u go with ....^^

I agree that I would not get the Mercedes..
They are having ALOT of quality problems recently.
Also I hate to be mean, everyone's opinion is different, but I think its the poor mans Mercedes.
It is overpriced if you ask me for what it is...
I would get a bimmer or Altima 3.5 SE 6spd

Go with a Z.

I have a Z and a CLK55 and unless you see AMG there is no comparison.
