2007 350Z Possible Expected Starting Price ...
Hi Everyone,
For a 2006 350Z Roadster Touring package, we would be looking at:
MSRP: $37,000
Invoice: $34,000.
Or, for a 2006 350Z Coupe Touring Package, we would be looking at:
MSRP: $32,450
Invoice: $30,011
What I'm curious about is what the possible expected starting price will be for a 2007 once they become available in January? $4,000 over the 2007 MSRP price? At the 2007 MSRP price?
1) What was the MSRP & Invoice for a 350Z Roadster Touring as well as the MSRP & Invoice for a 350Z Coupe Touring package in 2005? 2004? How much did they increase by between years?
2) Right now you can get both Roadster and Coupe at invoice or below for the 2006 models. What was the starting price for the 2006 Roadster/Coupe in January of 2006? What was the starting price for the 2005 Roadster/Coupe in January of 2005?
3) For the start of January in 2006, how much were 350Z's being sold for above or below the MSRP? Could you actually buy a 2006 350Z Roadster $1,000 below MSRP near the begging of the year? Or, did the selling price go up a few thousand over the MSRP in January of 2006? When did the price start nearing the invoice price (mid year??)?
If I can get a 2006 350Z right now for say $34,000 and it costs me $42,000 in January of 2007 for a 2007 350Z, then I would be saving $8,000 by getting one right now (and not locked out if prices are ridiculous in January 2007). Or, assuming the MSRP for a 350Z 2007 Roadster Touring is around $38,000 (realizing actually 2007 prices are not available yet), could I actually get it for $38,000? Or will dealers most likely have it a few thousand over the 2007 MSRP? Was is possible to buy a 2006 350Z in January of 2006 anywhere near the MSRP?
Thoughts? Ideas?

If getting the best price is important, buy an '06 now.
The '07 will be significantly more, perhaps full MSRP.
But remember, when the '07s come out, they are "new", and the '06 is a year old.

MSRP of the 07 will only be marginally higher than MSRP of the 06. Nissan made that mistake with the 300zx, and will not repeat it. But you can probably find a helluva deal on a 06 right now.
