The dealer add on fees are the tricky ones. They always try to sneak them in. My finance manager tried to work 700+ extra into my deal for crap like 230 for 3M interior protection guard. You have to be very careful.

As an auto finance loan officer and previous dealership finance manager, yes some financiers are truely manipulating and unfortunately you need to read everything you sign. When it comes to Your Word Vs. His...chances are you are going to lose since the contracts are spelled in in english and actually simple to understand...for that reason I agree with Brick-Z. You decided to sign the paperwork and assumed you were ok. Here in cali there is no cooling off period and that is a part of the finance world that is regulated on a state basis. Part of my territory is Mi, Il(specifically chicago) and all of ohio just to name a few, our company has an interview before the loan funds with the applicant which is also before the dealership gets their money to specifically prevent cases such as yours

Picket the dealer at the entrance. Post the truth on your picket sign. GL.

Anyone who wants to buy a car. ALWAYS go into the dealership with your finances setup ahead of time!!!!!

When the dealer agrees on your price $17,500 then you cut them a check for $17,500.00 dealer takes the check, and you take the car. ZERO hidden fees that way.

Thanks for the responses guys and gals. Its a dirty game and I really should have waited for my blank check from capital one to come in. I am just going to try to enjoy my new car and hope it has no problems since I am going tomorrow to cancel the warranty. This may be a mistake but I am going to take a chance on Nissan's reliability rather than pay $1,700 for a guarantee. Next time when I go to buy my Ferrari I will know about what to expect. As for the guys at Carlock Nissan in Jackson, TN. They should get ready because is coming to see them tomorrow.

I am 26 and the Blazer was paid for. I guess I really should not have posted this because everyone will think I am a idiot. This is the first car I actually have financed as I paid cash for all my vehicles prior to this. However, I really enjoy the Z and look forward to getting info and participating in this site. I make enough money so this is not a huge deal. It would be different if my car payment was 1/4 or 1/2 of what I make a month. I did cancel my warranty so I can subtract $1700 from the deal. Looking forward to making more friends here at the forum. Thanks!

I would immediately look into a refinancing deal. What is your interest rate?

Why do I need to refinance. I am paying $750 a month for only 2 years to cut the loan in half. The interest rate is ok.

I think having a monthly payment that high over 2 years is pretty dumb.

Just because you get a 5-6-7 year loan doesnt mean you can't pay it off in 1-2 years

My Acura TL payments are 312ish I pay $600 If something happens and work falls short I wont HAVE to come up with $600.00 I can pay the 300 and be fine.

The montly payment is $400. You must be some real genius out there to believe a $800 payment. Thats Ferrari ****. But yeah it may be dumb but I guarantee you even after paying what I want-which is 500 over the payment, I will save more interest than you paying 5-6-7. I m kinda seeing what kinda folks Im dealing with . You have some smart, and some real dumasses

Okay, I misunderstood. I didn't quite realize how directly you were getting hosed.

Basically they just got you with 'hidden fees' ? Like poser mobile "the fees are coming, the fees are coming"

that must be a Ferrari go kart, not an actual Ferrari.

you're not understanding what he is saying

on a 2 year loan, regardless of the rate, you gotta come up with that nut every month, no questions asked. If you are out of work, sick, etc etc, still gotta pay it. But, a longer term simply gives you flexibility. Yes, you're rate is a bit higher, but usually not much, and while your payment may only be $400 a month on a longer term, nothing prevents you from sending $700 or more. Short on money one month? No sweat, just pay the actual payment, nothing more. Got some overtime in a month and nothing to use it for? No problem, pay more towards the loan.

That is what he was saying

^ Yeah. My monthly payment is $325, but I pay $1000 every month. Its just nice to not -have- to drop $1000 if I'm low on money.

What's great is if you use a credit union for your loan (setting it up ahead of time of course) in my case I could get a 12 month to 100+ month loan all for the same rate. 4.9 for used and 4.5 for new.

I might be in the market for a house within the next year so my TL is on a 9 year loan, the TL is the only thing I have debt wise, everything else is paid in full. so when I'm looking at house loans my debt to income is going to be as high as I can get it.

Again I pay $600.00 a month, I feel that's a good # to pay on a car payment. however in the end I bet I could make more money paying the min car payment taking a hit on the interest and investing the extra cash else where.... since I hate the idea of owing anyone anything. I want it paid off soon. even if it means having less money to invest.

well I think as long as you are pleased with what you have to pay, then mission accomplished as far as your monthly payments go. I recently bought at nissan 350z this past nov. I got mine for 17339 walk out including taxes. Granted...hehe mine did have 73K on it when I purchased it. They were asking 16988. My parents had found the car for me. I had already got my financing through capital one. I was 250 miles away. They had me on speaker and I looked up an online calculator that included taxes etc. So when we went to deal we already knew how much we wanted inorder to make the deal possible. Oh yeah I forgot..haha much easier to send in a lawyer to do the dirty work rather than yourself lol. My moms one. By the time I drove there to see the car..all I had to do was sign a bunch of paper work. I think they were ready to get her out of there lol...
